Clash? Her contributions to the Environmental Defense Fund, comments about Van Jones, and saying she "supports the goals" of AB32 would suggest she's as loony as the rest of them.
Shultz went off the deep-end years ago.

Let's all hope that his post as campaign co-chairman is more honorary than real.
It's a shame to see a great man like George Shultz lose his fastball like that. Makes me wonder how many marbles I'll have left when I'm 89 years old.

If I recall correctly former U.S. secretary of State George P. Shultz was then, and is now a Globalist!
It's not his age, it's his allegiances that I don't like about him.

Seems to me the smartest things to do would be to continue to develop our own sources of oil/naturalgas/coal. Imagine if the United States would do that and the resulting supply/reserves between the US and Canada would dwarf OPEC. Maybe even produce so much we could begin to redress the huge trade imbalance between us and China. This would also insulate us from price shocks and kick the economy into high gear.
Of course, that makes too much sense. Why have stable energy prices, 2% unemployment and astronomical growth when we can have fear, uncertainty and doubt?

George Schultz is a feeble old man. He was once a good guy in the Reagan days but he's 89 years old. He hasn't a clue about how destructive AB32 is.
If I had to guess George Schultz is whoring for a lot of the big money guys up on Sand Hill Road (south of SF). Those Venture Capitalists have a ton of money invested in fraud (in my opinion) companies that are supposed to be Green Technologies. These guys want to keep the fraud going long enough so they can do IPOs on these companies and get their money back. These companies will NEVER make money without government subsidies and they know it. They also know that green energy is so expensive that they only way it's viable is to make other forms of energy expensive as well. This is where AB32 comes in. The goal is to make other forms of energy so expensive that the pitiful green companies can stay in business long enough for for the IPO. The whole thing will crash one day just like the DOT-COM thing did.
This is where the old fool George Schultz comes in. They have enlisted him to fight off Proposition 23 will which will essentially stop AB32, at least for a while and probably some time. They think by bringing him in they will have credibility. He's being used by the Sand Hill Road Sharks.
If you are from California, then you should get involved with passing Proposition 23. It's absolutely the most important proposition in many years. Also it's a chance to stick a finger in Arnold Schwarzenegger's eye as a parting shot.

She’s a rank amateur. Why else would she have George Schultz as co-chair of her campaign. Although I’d never vote for “moonbeam,” the difference in the two candidates appears to be marginal.

No kidding! I feel bad for those that cam for vacation and get foggy, damp beaches.
We can at least wait it out, knowing the sun will shine again since we're not limited to a 1 or 2 week vacation.

Family
While serving with the Marines in Hawaii, he met his future wife, nurse lieutenant Helena Maria “Obie” O’Brien (19151995). They had five children.[1] In 1997, after the death of Helena, he married Charlotte Mailliard Swig, a prominent San Francisco socialite. Their marriage was called the “Bay Area Wedding of the Year” and they remain a power couple in San Francisco.[18]

Marriage to George Shultz
Mailliard’s marriage, at the age of sixty-three, to the former Secretary of State at Grace Cathedral in 1997 was considered the Bay Area’s “wedding of the year.” They were introduced to each other by Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein. Shultz proposed to Charlotte at the Bohemian Club with a diamond, sapphire and ruby ring. Wedding guests included Nancy Reagan, former Senator Bill Bradley of New Jersey, former Ambassador to Great Britain Walter Annenberg, former California governor Pete Wilson, and current United States House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Today, the power couple continues to dominate San Francisco social events, their public lives intersecting through their vast contacts, from attending White House state dinners to throwing a bash for Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Tony Blair’s visit in 2006 at their Russian Hill penthouse at The Summit.

Good analysis - although I believe he is more insturmental in devising the scheme, not just being used as a Sand Hill puppet. Don’t forget — he was also instrumental in getting Schwarzenegger elected.
As to Prop 23, I will certainly support it. But shelving AB 32 for a year is not the solution and will have minimal (positive) impact. AB 32 MUST BE RESCINDED, REVOKED, and REVERSED. I don’t see anyone championing that effort yet.
I also agree with J Edgar - that Shultz is a globalist. Most recently he made headlines for joining with Kissinger, Sam Nunn, and Bill Perry — calling for a nuclear free world. Next he’ll be singing Kumbaya with Jimmy Carter.

Who knows? Trolling for her next husband?
In 2003, Arnie named her “Chief of Protocol for the State of California.”
Someone has to keep California royalty entertained, I guess.
