GOP Responds to Democrat Ad...Finally
YouTube ^ | August 1, 2010 | GOP

Posted on 08/03/2010 8:01:21 AM PDT by econjack

Brad Ellsworth is a local representative from Indiana running for reelection. When you see his ad, he misleads you into thinking that he has never been to Washington when in fact, he's an incumbent. The YouTube video is the GOP's response to his misleading ad. I'm so glad to finally see the GOP take off the gloves and punch somebody in the nose.

Nice to see the GOP doing something about an incumbent

The GOP/RNC has been searching for their gonads with both hands and a mirror and coming up empty.

True...not a great effort placed in making the ad, but it’s a vast improvement over what they’ve done in the past...nothing!

Yep...they're looking in the wrong place. They might want to take a peek under Pelosi’s dress...

It be much more effective to voice the comments instead of requiring the viewer to read them. The lively music adds nothing.

Nicely done, but the reality is that facts don’t matter to the libs.

In all of his TV ads in Indy so far Ellsworth has been running against Nancy Pelosi and Obama. I don’t think the ads even mention he’s a democrat. Hoosiers aren’t stupid though - Ellsworth is down about 20 points to Dan Coates right now and that spread will widen even more once Coates starts campaigning, which he hasn’t so far.

You can tell the state party produced it. The nat’l party doesn’t hand the spine.

Yet, his voting record squares perfectly with Pelosi and Obama. The ad doesn't mention he's a democrat or that he's an incumbent. He does that for deception, since he knows his voting record sucks.

As to Hoosiers and being smart, some are, some aren't. I have two friends who are very smart people who voted for Obama. They have since changed their minds. However, what about the people in Lake County? A good number of them who voted in the 2008 election were dead at the time...they probably weren't up on current events, either. Even worse, a number of these dead people voted TWICE.

Couldn’t they make the ad more informative, such as flashing some of those special interest groups, and then ‘group’ them by subject or something attractive? I don’t think listing them by alphabetical order is the best way to do so.

My guess is that all of us have ideas that would make the ad more effective. Still, it's better than no ad at all, which seems to have been the modus operandi for the GOP lately.

I wonder if they are saving the money for the sprint in September/October? But, by then voters’ impressions on the candidates will have been formed by Dhims’ ads.

Not to mention every high school student in Gary was bussed down to the Govt center in Crown Point and registered to vote by Rudy Clay and Dear Leader after his visit to Gary prior to the May 2008 primary. That accounts for 5K of the 20K loss in the state.

I had the same thought. I kinda think that's what they're doing. Remember the 2008 primaries? John McCain was a dead horse through the first few primaries and I thought he was out of the picture. That fact kinda tells me that people don't form hard opinions early in a race. Personally, I think waiting for a blitz closer to the election makes more sense, especially since a lot of voters have the attention span of a gnat.
