(Reuters) - House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants a vote before November elections on whether to extend tax cuts for those with annual income over $250,000 a year, she said in an interview broadcast on Sunday.
"The tax cuts for the wealthiest ... (with income of) $250,000 and above, were the Bush initiative," Pelosi said on ABC's "This Week," referring to former President George W. Bush.

Excuse me, but you’re counting our dollars as your own - before you even have it. They have to pay for a debt and they look at our bank account and call our money ‘borrowed money’. I’ve got a better idea, stop wasting our much money and then you won’t have to pick our pockets.

There is so much wrong in this statement I don’t even know where to start.
I can’t even make sense of it.
This would kill any chance of a near term recovery and guarantee a Republican sweep in 2012.
I am more than willing to pay higher taxes for awhile if it means higher unemployment and the eventual removal of Obama from office.
So go ahead Nancy, kill the recovery, and kill Obama’s chances in 2012.
Dime to doughnuts.. she is as big a tax thief as Rangel, Waters, Kerry... and the host of other reigning Democrats. Yes, let’s bring out the ledgers and see how much of her excess of $250,000 she has hidden.
I think he’s considering the tax-cut money not delivered to the government by tax cuts as “spending”. i.e. he thinks “Before the tax cuts the government could count on having to have X amount of money. After the tax cuts the government will have have “x-tax cut” amount of money.” Therefore, giving a tax cut is “spending” the governments money because after the tax cut the government has less money.
I’m not sure what the most wrong thing is. It’s either that he considers it “the government’s money” in the first place or that he considers tax cuts to be spending at all.

timing would be perfect. bring it on. it’s outrageous that we don’t know tax rates for next year by now anyway. but then this Congress can’t even deliver a budget. NOvember is a-comin’....
Great idea to have them before the elections. If the Dems think this is such a great idea, they should campaign on it.
