Sunday column ping. This article comes with a picture of a pirate flag with a picture of Kerry on it and the legend
“Jolly Dodger”

Liveshot, where’s your berth certificate?
By Howie Carr | Sunday, August 1, 2010 | http://www.bostonherald.com | Columnists

Of course I believe John “Liveshot” Kerry always planned to pay the $500,000 in taxes he owed the commonwealth.

That’s why he had the word NEWPORT painted on the boat right under Isabel, because he planned to dock it in NANTUCKET or FALMOUTH.

I believe Liveshot, just like I believed him when he said he once had a 24-point buck in his sights on Cape Cod. I believe he once ran in the Boston Marathon, because he said he did. I take him at his word that he’s a big Red Sox [team stats] fan, and so does Manny Ortez.

I believe it’s just a coincidence that both of his wives were or are worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and that he married them for true love. I believe he never tried to mislead the voters of Massachusetts into thinking he was half Irish. Billy Bulger was certainly wrong when he said of Liveshot: He’s only Irish every sixth year.

I believe Kerry always planned to pay Bob Brest on the Lynnway for the use of that free Buick he had, and he was just waiting for the bill to arrive before he got out his checkbook.

Liveshot Kerry never lies, because as he once poignantly told us, his mother left him with three words to live by: Integrity. Integrity. Integrity.

In fact, that would have been a great alternate name for the S.S. Botched Joke - the S.S. Integrity Integrity Integrity.

Poor Liveshot - his summer tainted by the foul breath of the plebeians here at the Herald. So for solace he sought out his own kind, at the Globe, where he could whine that he once had to subsist on a trust fund worth no more than $100,000, and no one would laugh in his face, because to those pampered pukes and bow-tied bumkissers, a mere six-figure trust fund is indeed a tragedy.

Poor John Kerry - the first Democratic senator to be outed as a berther. In fact, you might say he’s the only male in the U.S. Senate with berth marks. If only he hadn’t ordered the fire hydrant removed from outside his mansion on Beacon Hill, he could have just opened it, flood Louisburg Square and dock the S.S. Bo-tax right there in Ward 5.

It’s a grim weekend among the Beautiful People, the gigolos and the gold-diggers and the rest of the shiftless Politically Correct layabouts who make up Liveshot’s social circle. But there was one bright spot in those shameless puff pieces the Globe ran Friday after ignoring the story for all those days so as not to embarrass one of their own.

Did you notice, Kerry now claims he first ordered the Botched Joke in 2007? And the state sales tax in 2007 was 5 percent. Could there be an appeal in the works? When you’re talking $7 million, there’s a big difference between 5 percent and Deval’s new 6.25 percent rate.

First thing tomorrow morning, Liveshot may be pulling up in front of the Department of Revenue in his brand-new SUV, to ask the commissioner a very important question:

Can I get me an $87,500 sales tax abatement here?

Howie devoted much of his radio show to this subject this week, and it was so obvious that he was having fun. You can really tell when he’s working at something and when it really grabs him, and this was the perfect subject for him—a rich liberal who loves to tax the rest of us getting caught being a cheap bastard.

I’d say Kerry is the #1 advertisement for term limits, but I can think of so many others.

Yes! I pretty much missed the shows on Mon Tue and Wed since I was on vaca in New Orleans (though I heard one of the chumpline podcasts). I got back Thu night and had my comp.
tape the rebroadcast (1 am, WRKO) of the Thu show and put it on my mp3 player to hear back. Yes he’s having fun w/ it!

When I was in New Orleans, I listened to a bit of WRNO FM 99.5, owned by the same people (Clear Channel) who own
WXKS 1200 “Rush Radio” here (in the Big Easy it’s Rush
Radio 94.5) and the guy they have on after Hannity,
John Osterlind (5-8 pm CT) used to co-host WRKO’s morning
show a few yrs back. He was also taking a bit of delight in
the Kerry story as well as Barney Frank demanding his
$1 ferry discount.

Yes -- I don't remember him having this much fun since Drudge broke the story of the blue dress; I believe the phrase he used then was "lappin' it up with a spoon"!

I was checking out RKO yesterday and thought I heard the “theme” for ABC news, either on the hour or half hour, probably half hour; here’s probably why:

Clear Channel is allied with Premiere Radio: Rush, Hannity,
Coast to Coast, Beck-—and Fox News (Fox Sports too, I think). This is not to be confused with “Fox News Talk Radio”
(Brian Kilmeade, John Gibson, etc.) which is a separate company. Well of course when Clear Channel debuted WXKS 1200 as a talk station much of that went over to 1200.

Both WRKO and WXKS were soon carrying Fox News and I wondered if RKO would lose Fox News, too (on 1200 I think
during the day they do a combo of local news plus some Fox News). Well, it apparently has happened. Clear Channel/
Premiere wants it on Rush Radio 1200 only.

As a fallback, WRKO picked ABC News (which has been on
WRKO in the past; also some ABC bottom of hour newscasts
were on WBZ despite them being owned by CBS) apparently...

In many cities like Manchester NH you have Clear Channel
running all the Premiere shows (Beck, Rush, Hannity) plus Fox News (in that case, on their WGIR 610). Now Fox News is
only on WXKS, apparently.

Years ago WRKO was a CBS affiliate—when they were American Radio Systems or something, and later that went to WBZ.

Death pool winner?

Mitch Miller, Music Executive and TV Host, Dies
nytimes.com ^ | August 2, 2010 | RICHARD SEVERO

Posted on Monday, August 02, 2010 1:17:06 PM by Free ThinkerNY

Mitch Miller, an influential record producer who became a hugely popular recording artist and an unlikely television star a half century ago by leading a choral group in familiar old songs and inviting people to sing along, died Saturday in Manhattan. He was 99.

His daughter Margaret Miller Reuther confirmed the death Monday morning, saying her father had died after a short illness at Lenox Hill Hospital. Mr. Miller lived in Manhattan.

just dipped my toe in the “manning in the midday” mess - he’s interviewing Guy Carbone - he’s another one who wants to run opposite “marsha” in the primary - the other one is jim mckenna - both are running a sticker campaign.

(To the tune of "The Stars and Stripes Forever")

Be kind to your web-footed friends
For a duck may be somebody's mother
Be kind to your friends in the swamp
Where the weather is very, very damp [pronounced to rhyme with "swamp"]
Now, you may think that this is the end...
WELL, IT IS! [abrupt cut to closing credits]

Adieu, Mitch.
