Notice I used the word slumming. Her NEWLY ACQUIRED taste for “high fashion” is way beyond our meager serf budget.
They've come along way from scrounging around for a BELOW MAKRET value house and a sweetheart mortgage to fashion that would NEVER had been possible to taxpayers came along and funded it.

I am getting sick of hearing people talk about how good a dad or father hes is. With all the golfing, basketball, etc, when does he have any time for "his" kids and wife? Seriously, does he even like them?

Obama ate alone at fund-raiser dinner I don't read too much into this... it looks like he was on a tight schedule, and chose to use his limited time schmoozing with the attendees rather than limiting his attention to the "privileged few" at his own table.
Then, he wolfed down a quick meal before going on the next gig.
On the whole, a petty efficient use of limited time... I think it was actually quite savvy. A shame that his competence reaches only as far as glad-handing.
