Mail carrier Bryan Bloomquist survived a harrowing attack by two pit bulls, with help from neighbors and police who killed the dogs.
The adversarial relationship between mail carriers and dogs is well-known.
But as two pit bulls tore relentlessly into Bryan Bloomquist's arms and legs outside a north Minneapolis house Tuesday, the mail carrier didn't think about clichés. He thought about dying.
"I had no fight left in me at that point," said Bloomquist, a 6-foot 3-inch, 300-pound Iraq war veteran said from his hospital bed Wednesday. "I thought it was over."

Do a Google search on Pit Bull Kills. Then do one on Chihuahua kills, beagle kills, collie kills, Scottish Terrier kills and you may see a pattern.
Post them, if you want to, then.
I normally don't get heavily into the DogBite threads, but I hadn't seen this one posted yet, and it got a LOT of local press.
Where do you get your opinions from?
I can't. The labrador who bit my sister's face never made the news.

It's amazing how much press you get when you put 'pit bull' in the headline...
Darling picture, but, my dear, that is definitely NOT a pitbull.
He’s a mix...Pit bull & red heeler. We went through hell when he first came to live with us, all the energy of of a RH and the cleverness of a PB. Best dog I’ve ever owned, so far. Makes good furniture, too.
Count on you to post those. BTW, like your tagline!
Thanks! I ripped off a review of ‘the wolfman’.

I can imagine and I hear you. As a teenager running a paper route that went into a bad area of town I was set upon by a small gang of dogs run by a pit bull.
But I had my bicycle and the bag of newspapers around my shoulder so when I went down I put the bicycle over the top of me for cover along with thew news paper bag to cover my legs and I stuffed rolled up newspapers into the pitbull’s mouth. The thing was so enraged it could not distinguish between one of my limbs and the newspaper.
The other dogs stayed back and after a time the pit bull lost interest and went off.
I got out of it with just some deep bite marks, shortly after that I quit the paper route.
That was my first thought too.
Do you hate him, now that you know he’s part pit?
No not at all. Like you said, he makes good furniture! LOL!
I would think some smart people will make a land version of a shark powerhead, its also called a bang-stick, basically when you poke it at something it fires a cartridge of certain calibers, can be almost anything from a .22 to a 10ga or a centerfire cartridge.
Off hand I would think and aluminum pole with a machined head to accept a .410 reduced power slug that when depressed against something would through a safety trigger release a firing pin.
And I don’t care about legal ramifications, if we have a corrupt congress, and usurpation in the Whitehouse, federal judges accepting bribes and police that won’t police their own then I’m not going to obey any law.
Yes it can be viewed as a homemade rifle, it won’t have any range of course and will be viewed as a too short of a shotgun. But the beauty of it is that it can be concealed as an umbrella, a walking stick or cane or even in a walker leg for the elderly.
And the government needs to outlaw these pit-bull/pit-bull mix demon dogs. Government do not allow lions or tigers to kept in a home for good reasons.
Imagine, if you will, the sympathy USPS lawyers have for dog owners who used to laugh while inflicting 60,000 dog bites per year on the letter carriers. Now that number is quite small ~ proving ruinous law suits do encourage better behavior on the part of owners.
