Btw, (I am still reading all the paperwork that came in this envelope), there is a card with our name, make, and vin #.
The card has in bold:
THIS INFORMATION REQUEST IS AUTHORIZED BY LAW...WHETHER OR NOT YOU PLAN TO PARTICIPATE PLEASE RETURN THIS CARD IN THE ENVELOPE.
It has 10 questions to answer, including one asking if I will participate.
Of course I will not.

I heard something on the news today about the gov’t doing some vehicle testing against a broad range of vehicles but they weren’t going to separate them by class types. Wonder if this has anything to do with it.
Well, duh. What is not "authorized" is for them to force you to answer. They may be hoping that you think they are.
