President Barack Obama tried to revive his common touch on Thursday with a mainly light-hearted appearance on daytime television where five women hosts grilled him about his Blackberry, Lindsay Lohan and the Afghan war.
His appearance was the first by a sitting U.S. president on a daytime talk show. It allowed Obama to appeal directly to a targeted audience as he fights flagging poll numbers while he and his fellow Democrats try to avoid big losses in the November congressional election.
"The View" typically draws 3-4 million viewers and is particularly popular with women who are home at its late-morning air time.

Elizabeth hugged him and looked thrilled just like Maude Behar and the gang. Rush sent Maude some knee pads and hoped she received them in time for the show.
But Elizabeth seems to have lost her desire to be the lone Conservative that just MIGHT try to counter the Liberal jibberish coming from the other slobbering Yentas.
Her voice was always meek but now it’s silent. Pathetic.
Then she defended MO’s massively expensive trip to Spain on Hannity tonight, saying she has no problem about her spending time with her daughter!
I didn’t/couldn’t watch it. I thought he was supposed to be president of all the people. Going on liberal partisan programs like “The View” alienates half the people in the country. If he was in the midst of the 2012 campaign, I could somewhat understand why he would want to go on there. I guess he is just in constant campaign mode. This from the most divisive president in my memory....
