Rep. Waters: Shirley Sherrod Tape ‘Planted by the Enemy’ – ‘Right-Wing Press’

ABC News’ Gregory Simmons reports: At the Urban League’s Centennial Celebration today in Washington, Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., delivered a scathing response to the White House and U.S. Department of Agriculture’s handling of the Shirley Sherrod fallout.
Sherrod, a former director of rural development for the state of Georgia, resigned from the Agriculture Department last week -- forced out by the Obama administration after video of her delivering remarks at an NAACP banquet, recounting an incident that occurred in 1986, was posted by a conservative media outlet.
“Here you had a woman who basically had a great history of evidently had done her job and had done it well, she said. “And all of a sudden because of a lack of courage by people in leadership they responded to a video that was done by the enemy.”
“The enemy,” according to Waters, is the conservative media. “The same people enemy that just killed off ACORN and other things,” she said. “The right-wing press is using that platform to literally do their organizing, to intimidate you and basically run this country.”

Did the “enemy” plant all of those people in the audience who voiced approval when Ms. Sherrod admitted that he had singled out a whitey for unfair treatment?

It is a shame that these black politicians can’t make a more honorable presentation as to their interests. Take for instance Sheila Jackson Lee’s recent comments.
They embarrass themselves. And I feel embarrassed for them.
They do more to hurt their constituents and their legacy than anyone could scheme to do TO them or their race.
Where is honor? What about facts? What about truth?
