I don't know what to think right now. It's somewhat of a tossup; either the Democrat Party will run him out of town now so that they can put another shoe-in Rat on the ballot for November, or they will delay and Rangel will win his district again. Charlie is probably thinking that if he retires, he is going to collect all of the perks, but if he fights it is an all or nothing proposition. I'm betting he fights.

Last night, Rangel met with one of his lawyers and two Democratic leaders.

Uh oh. That sounds like a deal, and possible resignation is in the making. I was hoping for a long, drawn-out, nasty trial.

It doesn’t matter. As long as he wants to run for re-election he will win. The only thing that MIGHT stop that is if he becomes a Pubbie or changes his skin color.

Rangel is turning into the biggest embarrassment for the Democrats since former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. Even more so considering he was one of the leaders of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Rangel is being forced out by the 1960s ultra-radical faction, because he is 4th in seniority in the House, and #3 Dave Obey is retiring. This would automatically give Rangel the chairmanship of the most powerful committee in the House, the Appropriations committee, if the Democrats keep the House after the next election.

And the Appropriations committee determines where every dime spent by congress goes. Unless the 1960s radicals control that committee, their agenda is over.

Obey will do anything Nancy Pelosi and the other radicals want him to, but Rangel is not part of their faction, so he will tell them to go get knotted.

And, I might add, while Charlie Rangel is typically liberal, he is not a true believer. He also earned the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart in Korea, leading members of his unit out of Chinese encirclement while wounded.

This honor and bravery alone are enough for the 1960s radicals to bitterly hate him.

You KNOW this new stuff came FROM the Democrats. Charlie will slip out the door with bulging pockets and a smile.

Charlie is old school poll who succeeded Harlem’s long serving Rep. Adam Clayton Powell http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Clayton_Powell,_Jr.
My prediction: Harlem’s next leader will be a Moslem.

This is all bullsh*t, and people shouldn’t fall for it. A congressional trial? Ethics charges? If we don’t pay our taxes, can we expect the same? Oh hell no. Put this POS on trial for real in the same justice system us mere peasants would have to face.

If he had been Republican or some other normal person, he would have been forced to resign after weeks of negative press. Since he has two forms of protection, he’s coasting to a light tap on the wrist.

1] Old guys eventually become expendable, and Charlie's number is up.,p>2] We all know there will never be any real punishment

The logical conclusion would be that this is all just a dog-and-pony show so the mindless masses will have less time to think about the economy and the imminent failure of their 'historic' administration.

This has Alinsky written all over it.

Well, the fix is in. Nothing to see here, move along.
