At 85, Phyllis Schlafly has still got game.
The anti-feminist founder of the conservative Eagle Forum -- who counts Barry Goldwater's 1964 White House run and the 1982 death of the Equal Rights Amendment as exquisite victories and the "internationalist" presidencies of George Bush 41 and 43 as "not helpful to the Republican party" -- hasn't mellowed one whit.
That she made abundantly clear Thursday afternoon at the Conservative Political Action Committee conference in Washington.
Lord knows she still looks great, the poufy blonde hair perfectly lacquered, the fitted tweed jacket tricked out with her signature golden eagle brooch and tiny anti-abortion baby feet, her neck encircled by three stands of pearls and a chain from which dangled a cross of gold.

Because he’s trying to cover his arse. He is now on record as saying women shouldn’t vote. The cat’s outta the bag.
Nobel prize for stupid comment!
You may note, in my much maligned (by the whimpering feminists) first statement the other day on this subject, I laid out the exception - “Unless her name is Thatcher” - which, contrary to your interpretation, did not literally mean 85 yo Maggie would have to move to the US and get a false BC like Obama. It means that that is the only type of woman I’d consider. And that, right now, leaves Bachmann closest to position.
Repeal the 19th is more accurate.
I’m still thinking Michelle Bachman.
The Presidency is not just a mans’ job.
There is nothing in the constitution that says the President has to have a penis. Nothing there.. Just have to be over 35 !
Yep, she sure can. It would be a long list, populated with names like DeMint, Hunter, Bolton, North, Cain, Rounds, etc etc.
>> But she knows its really a mans job
But she didn’t say that.
Strange position you’re taking if you consider the choice of either Obama or Palin where Obama is biologically the “man”.
What a pantload.
I think you doth protest too much. You posting history is quite clear. Your words are forever emblazoned on FR for all to see.
Good luck trying to weasel out of them.
Yeah, it sure did, didn't it?
I agree - her quitting was not only stupid, it was also tremendously useless, at least as far as keeping trust with her constituents was concerned.
Though it does appear to have been very good for her book tour.
An old gal like Phyllis would have a negative view of Sarah or any other female THAT MUCH YOUNGER than she. Some of it is seniority disdain, and some of it is natural female cattiness! As my mentor used to say; “Everybody burns their toast occasionally!” Methinks Phyllis burned hers with that remark. After all, since when has Phyllis been able to walk on water?!
Schaffley is from the very, very, very, very old school. Right on some thing but still wonders where they left the keys to her Model T.
She’s as close to Thatcher as we’ve got right now. So run, Michele run.
I love you Phyllis but, we’ll see.
Good grief you are dense.
She's been the leading conservatve coming against the dem agenda ever since her book came out.
I guess that's not leadership either.........
*rolls eyes*
And give it up on the quitting stuff, if she didn't do what she said she was going to do, which was take another direction to make a conservative agenda succeed, then you could say she quit. She didn't go hide like you imply, she moved ahead with her hope to undo Obamism and further a conservative agenda.
She's right there in front, but then you wouldn't notice.
I agree.
Well said.

Wow pissant. this post of your pretty much negates anything you have to say on FR.
In fact, I think Duncan Hunter would stay far, far away from you if he had any inkling this is how you feel about a woman's right to vote.
