Phyllis Schlafly: No Women, Sarah Palin Included, Ready for White House
Politics Daily ^ | Ann Groer

At 85, Phyllis Schlafly has still got game.

The anti-feminist founder of the conservative Eagle Forum -- who counts Barry Goldwater's 1964 White House run and the 1982 death of the Equal Rights Amendment as exquisite victories and the "internationalist" presidencies of George Bush 41 and 43 as "not helpful to the Republican party" -- hasn't mellowed one whit.

That she made abundantly clear Thursday afternoon at the Conservative Political Action Committee conference in Washington.

Lord knows she still looks great, the poufy blonde hair perfectly lacquered, the fitted tweed jacket tricked out with her signature golden eagle brooch and tiny anti-abortion baby feet, her neck encircled by three stands of pearls and a chain from which dangled a cross of gold.

Tinnitus Quix Cheerios:

In response to #36, Palin didn’t resign just because of the media. She resigned after the election in response to a fraud investigation which hindered her ability to function in full capacity as the governor, and did in it in order that Alaskan taxpayers wouldn’t be paying for her to go to work every day and defend herself.

The anti- Sarah Palin people do not give her the credit due her. She may lack the political jargon, but she has much experience as a governor and an executive. She did not make governor on strictly her good looks. She does have a college education. She prefers to speak plainly so that all the folks understand her. Her jokes are taken as fact. If some of you can’t recognize a joke, that says something about your lack of a sense of humor. She is a great woman. America can be proud of her. If all goes well, she will be a great president.

Yea, it’s a man’s job..they’ve done SO VERY WELL. It’s time for the women to come and clean up the mess. And we will. We’re doing it within the Republican Party and, when the time comes, we’ll do it from the White House.

I must agree with you. At other times of crisis in history, we may have had some men in politics who had the character to lead, but there's plenty of room for debate there. FDR is a shining example of one who exploited a major crisis for years while the people of the nation suffered; one who needlessly and actively worked to split families asunder for his socialist objectives.

At this time, the men in our political machinery are kaput, either AWOL or hopelessly corrupt. When our nation most needs statesmen, the men are busy jockeying for personal gain.

Phyllis Schlafly is dead wrong about Sarah Palin, and about the dozens of GOP conservative women across the nation who are stepping up to run for House, Senate, and Govornor seats.

I can see it now......the dems win again in 2012 because the conservatives have a Burr Up Their saddle. (AGAIN)

I’m gonna save this post for a while and I am going to resurrect it when Obama gets reelected.

We are our own worst enemies.

Ahhh, you’re another idiot repeating liberal drivel.

> 20 false ethics complaints
Cost to Alaskan taxpayers > $2 Million
Cost to Palin family to defend > $500k
Palin salary $100k

Do the math.

Alinsky plan was tie up Palin in these lawsuits, associate Palin name with ethic charges (regardless if they were false) and bankrupt her.

Now grow up, get intelligent and stop repeating liberal lies - you’re sounding like NYTimes.

Well, I am no longer one of those people who says they wish for the big one to slide California off into the ocean. (I never really ‘wished’ for it, but would often use it as a figure of speech to demonstrate how displeased I was with some of the things I saw...)

It was a classic case of how I wore my own state’s faults on my back, and took offense when people would sincerely express the same kind of wishes for Massachusetts.

In retrospect, liberals in California can probably do a lot more damage than liberals in Massachusetts, but...even though you guys might have Courtney “Pete” Stark and The Governator, we had the likes of Kennedy, Kerry and Frank (not to mention Meehan, McGovern, etc.)

So...Massachusetts has much more liberal bang for the buck.

Nasty. Phyllis is entitled to her opinion.

I tend to think she may be right.

I wish Phyllis the best for being a conservative warrior for many years.

They can ignore Palin support for the LOST Treaty and global warming, but trash a bonafide conservative like Phyllis.

That is called Blind Faith

Smart woman.

Agreed. The total excoriation of Mrs Schlafly will now commence in earnest... Too bad, she's right.

Yep, she sure can. It would be a long list, populated with names like DeMint, Hunter, Bolton, North, Cain, Rounds, etc etc.

Any one of those would get my vote. Providing, of course, that I'm allowed to cast one... ;^)

There is something particularly funny about reading an article (posted by pissant, who doesn’t think women can be trusted to vote) about a woman (Schlafly) disqualifying a woman for being a woman.

So, let me sum up:

Sarah Palin isn’t ready to be President because she’s a woman; and to back this assertion up, PDS sufferers are citing the a woman leader saying women shouldn’t be leaders.

In other words: citing the political wisdom of a woman, they assert that a woman can’t have adequate political wisdom to be President.

Classic.
