The U.S. launched a new initiative on Sunday aimed at battling large-scale public corruption in foreign states.
Attorney General Eric Holder announced the Kleptocracy Asset Recovery Initiative at the African Union Summit in Uganda. In addition to tackling the lucrative field of public bribes, the new initiative is also aimed at recovering public money and redirecting it to its intended use.
As head of the Department of Justice, Holder said the U.S. has been assembling a team of prosecutors who will be devoted exclusively to the initiative. He emphasized that African countries must strengthen their judicial systems in tandem with the efforts to prosecute corrupt public officials.
[I] know that prosecution is not the only effective way to curb global corruption, Holder said in prepared remarks at the African Union summit. We will continue to work with your governments to strengthen the entire judicial sector, a powerful institution in our democracy which depends on the integrity of our laws, our courts, and our judges.
We must also work with business leaders to encourage, ensure, and enforce sound corporate governance. We should not, and must not settle for anything less.

You forgot the SARC tags!
Start with Illinois?
How about starting with his department?
What a despicable moron!
Was this freakin incompetent actually visiting his mythical ancestral paradise of Uganda? You can't make this s*** up!
They must have sent Holder that Ugandan email asking him to pass along a bank account number to hold funds because of all the local corruption.
What do you expect of the Hypocrite Party.
Spending American tax dollars in Uganda fighting corruption, is corruption, the irony is thick.
Heh hehe ... foreign staes ... AZ? CA?
“He emphasized that African countries must strengthen their judicial systems in tandem with the efforts to prosecute corrupt public officials.”
This is from OUR Eric Holder??!! Hysterical!!
Is Holder doing stand up comedy for foreign nations now? I can hear them laughing.
The easiest thing to do is simply stop our funding of the UN. End of story, problem solved.
Uganda, Nigeria, what's the difference. What you have here is more Obama identification w the third world and less use for the real America that was built by Europeans with some help from black people. Hispanics were not a factor in American history as far as building America. In the year 1950 Hispanics were only 1% of the continental US population
The above is fact. American blacks were junior partners in the American enterprise. Plenty of white and Chinese slave/indentured labor was also brought to these shores
Here’s a thought, idiotHolder: Battle the sheer and utter corruption in your own department.......your mirror is obviously broken, huh? =.=
Whoops, sorry ‘bout that!
Foreign states? Those states like Arizona? Utah? And just about every state in the south?
Shaking my head. What is next???
is this for real???? Kleptocracy??? Like kleptomaniac???
wouldn’t it be nice to see some accountability for the taxpayer foreign aid sent to especially Africa? won’t happen tho - but it is a good excuse to hire more lawyers for the gub’ment, who’s salaries will likely exceed any sums we ‘recover’.
What’s next? Next 0bambi will lecture foreign leaders about taking too much leisure time.
