JD Hayworth's Republican challenge to McCain grows as anti-immigrant anger spills onto AZ's streets

JD Hayworth, a barnstorming Arizona Republican who is campaigning for the Senate, has strong opinions about his state's new law on illegal immigration.

The law, known as SB1070 and due to come into effect this week, requires police to arrest suspected illegal immigrants and makes it a crime not to have valid immigration papers on your person. It has prompted Hispanics to fear racial profiling, immigrants to flee the state in droves, activists to organise consumer boycotts and the Obama administration to sue in federal court.

Hayworth has an objection, too. He thinks the law is not enough. Speaking to an overwhelmingly white crowd at a "town hall" meeting in suburban Mesa last week, Hayworth said it was time to stop automatically granting citizenship to anyone born in Arizona. "There is a whole new term: birth tourism. In the jet age there are people who time their gestation period so they give birth on American soil," he declared. State senator Russell Pearce, who helped come up with SB1070, is now pushing for a law along those lines.

The Guardian characterizes conservatives' language about illegal immigration as "blood-curdling." Here's the language:

"It is a national security threat," Hayworth told the crowd in Mesa. "It is an economic threat and an invasion that must be stopped."

Blood Curdling. Whooo! Whoooooooo!

The guardian is a leftist trade unionist newspaper. It is a POS like McCain. The best papers in the world are owned by the Barclay brothers. The UK Telegraph and The Daily Mail.

For the limp wristed pussies at the Guardian, I’m sure it seemed blood curdling.

Poorly disguised hit piece on JD. Distorts the new AZ law, focusses on the “whiteness” of JD’s supporters, stopped reading there...

That, in a nutshell, is why JD is losing so badly. His organization is not so good.

What I forgot to say is that I support him 100% and am doing everything I can in Mohave County to get the vote out for him. He needs to be relentless this month.

If you're serious about putting up a JD sign at your business, this link will give you the address where you can pick up a sign and they ask for a $2 fee to help offset the costs.

J.D. MUST defeat McLame. Otherwise Juan will take his revenge on us by pushing through a massive amnesty bill.

McCain has glow in the dark sighns that tout his “aggressive” plan to solve border problems. He has his fellow loser, Jon Kyl’s name on each bulletin board also. You are right. There are plenty of numbskulls here.

If McCain wins the primary, he will face the idiot, Rodney Glassman in the general, and we’ll get to hear Freepers telling us how much we need old Judas McIscariot back in the senate again.

Look and listen to poor J.D. and see that he is just not an attractive candidate. I will vote for him, but he will lose.
he has a carnival barker persona which no one tried to change so he could win.

Please forgive me, I didn’t mean to indict all Arizonans, but how many times does this RINO have to screw the voters there before they finally get it? I should say, it doesn’t help when that idiot Sean Hannity has him on his show at least once a week, and refuses to call McCain out on his hypocrisy! I guess Hannity and Juan are tight.

I do think it’s great the way your state is leading the way on enforcing the Federal Immigration Laws.

Maybe by God’s grace, JD will pull a win out and retire the media whore McCain.

I don't believe it would take a Constitutional Amendment. All that's needed is a statute (simple law) that the “anchor babies” - those born to illegals - are “not subject to the jurisdiction thereof” and they can then be deported along with their parents. The Fourteenth Amendment spells that out, we just need to take advantage of it.

.

If Hayworth really wants to win this race, why doesn’t he just come out with the facts and call mcCain the liar that he is?

2006- Sen. McCain voted against extending the border fence in the Sessions Amendment (2) to H.R. 5441.

2006- Sen. McCain voted to prevent the border fence from being built by voting in favor of the Managers Amendment to S. 2611, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006.

2005- Sen. McCain voted against providing funding for additional Border Patrol and ICE agents by voting against the Byrd Amendment to H.R. 1268.

McCAIN: THE AMNESTY KING FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS

2007 Sen. McCain was heavily involved in the backroom negotiations of S. 1348 with Sen. Kennedy and Pres. Bush this was an amnesty (permanent residency & path to citizenship) for more than 10 million illegal aliens.

2007 Sen. McCain cast several votes to protect the amnesty in S. 1639 and to move the amnesty toward a vote.

2007- Sen. McCain is a cosponsor of S. 774, the DREAM Act. The bill would grant in-state tuition and amnesty to more than a million illegal aliens under the age of 30.

2007- Sen. McCain is a cosponsor of S. 340, the Agricultural Job Opportunities, Benefits, and Security Act of 2007 (AgJOBS). This bill would grant amnesty to millions of illegal agricultural workers.

2006- Sen. McCain voted in favor of S. 2611, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006. This bill would have awarded amnesty to 10.2 million illegal aliens.

They may not be subject to the jurisdiction but the police sure are, and there will be immediate injunctions against touching these folks if this tack is tried.
