JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A man provoked a confrontation Saturday when he tried to drop off several sandbags at the opening of U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown's Northside campaign headquarters.
When Jerod Powers walked into the event at the Gateway Mall with several sandbags, he was confronted by several Brown supporters.
"We know it's hurricane season and she might need a few more," said Powers as he tried to unload the sandbags.
Powers' reference was to an incident in August 2008 when city workers and county inmates delivered sandbags to Brown's home to protect it from rising water during Tropical Storm Fay. Many in the Jacksonville were upset because no one else was getting assistance from during the storm.

Welcome to Free Republic!
Another chance to play the “Name That Party” game.
The Districts are gerrymandered in northeast Florida as anyone can see by looking at the way Corrine Browns district runs through the poor areas of Jacksonville and then downstate.
The neighboring couple of Districts are gerrymandered for GOP to win.
I have no idea which party set it up this way. All I know is when I moved from Murray Hill area to Ortega area I lost Anders Crenshaw and am now stuck with this flaming libtard Brown who apparantly can not be beaten because of the heavy Democrat registration in her district.
One of the complaints was that Foutanga Dit Babani Sissoko, a West African businessman, purchased a $50,000 Lexus for Brown's daughter after Brown lobbied Janet Reno to release him from prison...
Also:
Brown hired jazz and gospel singer Roslyn Burrough as a "congressional outreach specialist". Burrough was paid $40,000 at taxpayer expense for two 12-week engagements.
