I would say look at the RJ article, given the current issues with the RJ, I am not even going to link. The Sun also has coverage. KTNV has video reports as does the Fox affiliate Channel 5. This site has eyewitness quotes.
The RJ they interviewed the same witnesses as the cops and the stories were markedly different. His "destruction" of property was checking that water bottles frame a display fit an insulated carrier (backback) he had with him. He was interacting 'normally' with store employees and so on.
NO weapon seen by the MANY MANY people walking out of the store with the (now) dead guy.
I find it VERY ODD that the state of the art COSTO surveillance system suddenly has a 'glitch' Given the 911 taps have not been released - is COSTCO worried about being sued?
I heard it as a clerk in COSTCO freaked out when she saw his CCW weapon and called 911 in hystrerics - again, the 911 tape has not been released.
NO GUN pointed at anyone - one old guy did say he saw Scott trying to drop his holstered weapon when the cops started shooting. But this is the only eyewitness that has made this statement publicly. Other deny any weapon involved.
This was a vet, a West Point grad, a successful businessman not some crackhead. Again, many witnesses - no gun pointed at anyone.
And how would YOU like to be in that crowed parking lot when the police started blazing away? Luckily, no one else was killed.
You are aware that at least one of the three officers had prior officer involved shooting - also fatal?
BTW - if 3 armed officers were screaming contradictory commands at you - what would YOU do? Just wondering....
For me, the reality is moot - I no longer live in Las Vegas. Just thought it was unjustified, senseless and as are almost all Metro beefs, it will likely be whitewashed.
I guess if the Sheriff don't get re-e;ected might send a message...
STOP VERY SLOWLY RAISE YOUR HANDS DE-ESCALATE THE SITUATION. THEN IDENTIFY THE LOCATION OF YOUR CARRY WEAPON. ALLOW AN OFFICER TO RETRIEVE THE CARRY WEAPON. You manage the situation.
