Who can capture the Tea Party vote?

It’s called a party though it’s not a party, though even that depends whom you ask. It’s not in the business of endorsing candidates except when it is, and has no interest in the establishment even though one member is running for governor.

Welcome to New York’s Tea Party movement. What began in early 2009 as a series of protests against the Obama administration’s stimulus plan and health-care legislation has grown into a bona fide political force that has asserted itself into state and local politics. (There are over 100 groups in New York state alone, although membership ranges from the thousands to, literally, parties of one.)

The movement itself, however, has no center and no leader, no organizational structure or message control.

So when a candidate emerges and aligns himself with the Tea Party, or claims to be of the Tea Party, confusion and power struggles are likely to ensue. Such is the case with conservative billionaire Carl Paladino, who officially entered New York’s gubernatorial race on April 5.

Those of us in the Tea Parties knew last year that politicians will try to coopt the movement, political parties will try to absorb the Tea Parties into their own, and that the political media will distort, misrepresent and disparage the Tea Parties all along the way.

The Tea Parties are prepared and fully cognizant of the threats to our values.

Bring them on!!!

Neither my wife nor I could bring ourselves to register as republicans in Arizona this election. For one, thing, AZ republicans permitted an open primary, allowing any party or independents to vote for Juan McAmnesty over JD Hayworth. I will not be affiliated with a party that would push that sham of a politician on us again. There's no real consequence as a result of open primaries, so why would I want to be identified one way or another on paper? I'm a conservative, not a republican. At the voting booth, the republican party is my bi@tch...

I can't say my wife is representative of Latinas, she's rock solid conservative and doesn't deal with crap from anyone. M Steele sure hasn't done them any favors. Guess she had enough from the RNC. Me, too.

Let's see who delivers and we'll vote based on that.

I hate them open primaries, it is a means the liberal rinos use to stop conservatives from winning in the primaries by crossover dems and rinos and liberals who number in that choice. And it is the reason the republicans are scum also, the dems are communists and fools both parties are worthless.

The answer to your question is a piece of cake to give. Anyone who follows the following will "capture" the Tea Party Vote:

==============================

Mission Statement

The impetus for the Tea Party movement is excessive government spending and taxation. Our mission is to attract, educate, organize, and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three core values of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets. Core Values

* Fiscal Responsibility: Fiscal Responsibility by government honors and respects the freedom of the individual to spend the money that is the fruit of their own labor. A constitutionally limited government, designed to protect the blessings of liberty, must be fiscally responsible or it must subject its citizenry to high levels of taxation that unjustly restrict the liberty our Constitution was designed to protect. Such runaway deficit spending as we now see in Washington D.C. compels us to take action as the increasing national debt is a grave threat to our national sovereignty and the personal and economic liberty of future generations.

* Constitutionally Limited Government: We, the members of The Tea Party Patriots, are inspired by our founding documents and regard the Constitution of the United States to be the supreme law of the land. We believe that it is possible to know the original intent of the government our founders set forth, and stand in support of that intent. Like the founders, we support states’ rights for those powers not expressly stated in the Constitution. As the government is of the people, by the people and for the people, in all other matters we support the personal liberty of the individual, within the rule of law.

* Free Markets: A free market is the economic consequence of personal liberty. The founders believed that personal and economic freedom were indivisible, as do we. Our current government’s interference distorts the free market and inhibits the pursuit of individual and economic liberty. Therefore, we support a return to the free market principles on which this nation was founded and oppose government intervention into the operations of private business.

Piece of cake ...
