Hugo Chavez exhumes remains of hero Simon Bolivar

Hugo Chavez, the president of Venezuela, has exhumed the remains of South American independence hero Simon Bolivar to determine the cause of his death nearly 200 years ago.

Mr Chavez suspects that Bolivar was murdered and did not die from tuberculosis, as most historians believe.

Announcing the exhumation of his hero on Twitter, Mr Chavez said he "wept with emotion".

"What impressive moments we have lived tonight. We have seen the bones of the Great Bolivar!" he wrote.

"That glorious skeleton must be Bolivar, because his flame can be felt. Bolivar lives!" he added.

A team of forensic pathologists and criminal investigators are examining the remains to see if Bolivar was the victim of a conspiracy rather than illness, according to Venezuela's attorney-general, Luisa Ortega Diaz.

"We have important discoveries that will be announced to the nation at the appropriate moment," she said.

Known as "the Liberator", Bolivar led the 19th century revolutionary war against Spain, winning independence for Venezuela and several other South American nations. He died in 1830 at the age of 46 in Colombia.

The Venezuelan president claims him as the inspiration for his "Bolivarian" revolution, though some historians say Bolivar would not agree with Mr Chavez's socialist policies.

Maybe he’ll catch something horrible from the bones.

Chavez cannot pass an examination for insanity, IMO.

The people of Venezuela made a really bad choice.

We didn’t do much better in Nov 2008.

I believe Bolivar to be a great man. On his deathbed he allegedly said “Those who have served the cause of the Revolution have plowed the sea. Our (South) America will be ruled by vulgar tyrants.” He was precient too. Hugo Chavez wouldn’t make a pimple on Bolivars backside.

If the bones turn out to be anyone other than Bolivar’s and are reported as such, the forensic doctors will be slandered and later quietly murdered. This is idol (as in tribal materialism) worship no different than Agore’s trillion dollar shtick. Slander, ridicule and murder are intimately part of the game.

You are sooo right! What he has done to the remains of Bolivar is pathetic! I honestly think Chavez is losing his mind from a brain tumor....or something....

I think his intention is to prove that Columbians killed Bolivar with poison. I think he then will use that as an excuse to go to war with Columbia. He is indeed crazy as a sh** house mouse as is our idiot in chief, Bozo.

Since El Puerco is disturbing the dead he better watch out that the dead just might disturb him back. The arrogance of Hugo will eventually sink him for good.

He was like George Washington in South America, however, unlike George Washington Bolivar turned into a dictator..
