The White House today confirmed what many islanders have been anticipating for weeks: The first family will return to Martha's Vineyard for vacation next month.
President Obama and his family are scheduled to vacation on the island from Aug. 19 to Aug. 29.
The White House did not provide details on the getaway, but the Globe reported earlier this month that a reservation company has been holding rooms across the Vineyard for the contingent of staff who travel with the president.

Imagine - Bush gave up golf for the last 5 years of his administration and, as far as I can remember, vacationed only at Crawford which was like being at the White House anyway.
Destroying the nation is hard work. He deserves a break.

I hope it’s a long vacation. Every day this socialist is in office is a terrible day for America, but he seems to do less damage when he’s vacationing. I’d happily pay his salary from my personal funds for the next 30 months if he would leave and never come back.

Most of the comments on the Boston Globe article were indeed supportive of Obama. They felt he deserved to vacation and insisted he worked on his vacations. Good grief, how ridiculous. President Obama is always going on vacation. Wasn’t he just in Maine? Now going to Martha’s Vineyard? Is it just me, or does it seem like he is being gotten out of the way?

You are right. I feel much more secure when B.O. is on vacation. It doesn’t seem as though he enjoys his work very much. Actually most of America doesn’t enjoy his work either.
