Obama’s Overdue AIDS Bill
NYTimes ^ | July 20, 2010 | Desmond Tutu

Cape Town

HAVING met President Obama, I’m confident that he’s a man of conscience who shares my commitment to bringing hope and care to the world’s poor. But I am saddened by his decision to spend less than he promised to treat AIDS patients in Africa.

George W. Bush made an impressive commitment to the international fight against AIDS when he formed the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief program. Since 2004, Pepfar has spent $19 billion to help distribute anti-viral treatments to about 2.5 million Africans infected with H.I.V.

Bush’s fault! Oh, wait ....

Actually I am getting to be increasingly convinced that the USA should extend a giant middle finger to the rest of the world.

Sorry, we’re broke. Go find a new sucker.

So I’ve spent $7600 apiece on people that I never had sex with to combat a disease that they MAY be infected with because they have poor moral habits and next year my taxes are going to sky rocket.

Nope. Tutu blames Barry for a potential 1.2 million deaths over the next 5 years.

If this doesn’t happen it’ll be because Bush promised the money without paying for it—something dems usually don’t give a damn about.

I do find the headline amusing in a sad way—the rest of the world is always presenting the US with bills as if it’s our responsibility. Granted, Bush did promise this, but what I mean is the tone, the attitude.

Not unexpected is how Obama is praised right away, and Bush is given a kind of grudging nod.

I thought the Clinton Global Initiative was taking care of the Aids in Africa problem. /s

Who knows how many Haitians died because of Barry's complete lack of executive ability to promptly accomplish any real-world undertaking like organizing assistance to a disaster area.

Tutu can cluck all he wants, but none of it will stick to Obama because he is so far above and beyond such considerations.

Notice how Tutu gives props to Bush only now because he can use it as a club to get more from Obammy.

Oh, my goodness, - the notion of an American president spending Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars on the betterment of Americans? How novel and how unjust.

Hey, America, just gimme yer munny and shut the f*** up!

AIDS in Africa was, and may still be, diagnosed using a check list of symptoms. X number of symptoms checked off = AIDS diagnosis. The problem is that many of the symptoms are also found in the tropical diseases and VD’s.
