For all the talk of a splintered GOP base, with "tea party" conservatives squaring off against establishment Republicans, the Democrats have serious divisions of their own.
Democratic officials were hoping that after 18 months of deep frustration by many in the party's liberal base over what they believe is President Obama's watered-down agenda, the prospect of losing ground in the November midterm elections would be enough to heal wounds. But as Netroots Nation, a conference of 2,100 liberal activists, opened here Thursday, it was clear that anger among some prominent progressives is still raw -- and it could imperil some Democrats this fall.
Markos Moulitsas, founder of the Daily Kos blog and an organizer of the first such annual conference five years ago, said he and his followers are disinclined to help Democratic candidates simply to preserve the party's big majorities.
"There's a lot of Democrats I'll be happy to see go," Moulitsas said in an interview. "I'll celebrate when Blanche Lincoln is out of the Senate. There is a price to be paid for inaction and incompetence. We're not getting much done with 59 [Democratic senators], so if we're down to 54, who cares?"
Moulitsas went on to suggest that a smaller Democratic majority in the House might be better for advancing a more progressive agenda. "If 20 Blue Dogs lost their seats, nobody's going to care," he said. "That's their problem and I'm not going to cry about them. To me, a more cohesive caucus might be a better deal moving forward than one in which the Blue Dogs need to be appeased."

Markos Moulitsas, founder of the Daily Kos blog and an organizer of the first such annual conference five years ago, said he and his followers are disinclined to help Democratic candidates simply to preserve the party’s big majorities.
“There’s a lot of Democrats I’ll be happy to see go,” Moulitsas said in an interview. “I’ll celebrate when Blanche Lincoln is out of the Senate. There is a price to be paid for inaction and incompetence. We’re not getting much done with 59 [Democratic senators], so if we’re down to 54, who cares?”

YES!!! Come on Progressives; listen to Markos Moulitsas. He da man!!!! Vote out those inept Dems....yeah....get a small cohesive group of liberals in the House and Senate. That will help your cause; for real, as they all join hands in their weekly caucus and sing “Cumbya”.
Hell yes!!! You go Markos; you emanate wisdom.
(Dumb asses!)
Moulitsas, a perfect example of what Rahm Emanuel was talking about.
Democrats are running away from Obama and his policies faster than their feet can take them.
Why?
Because they rightfully sense doom and disaster in November.
They do not want to hold town hall meetings because they know they will be targets of voter wrath and intense anger.
The few constituencies that the dems have are not energized. The Jews are demoralized because they see the Obama administration as being anti Israel and anti Jew and pro Iranian and pro Muslim. The blacks are not motivated because of all the racial strife the Obama administration has caused and even exacerbated. Also, the unemployment rate among blacks is the highest it has ever been. And that is something they cannot blame on the Bush administration and they know it. The blacks are feeling the major brunt of this double dip recession which is quickly turning into a Great Depression a la the thirties all over agaiu and Obama is perceived as not caring and not doing anything worthwhile to end it. The latinos and hispanics are not motivated because they know there will not be any comprehensive immigration (read amnesty) this year. The gays and lesbians are not enthused because nothing has been done on don’t ask, don’t tell and gay marriage.
Netroots or Nutfroots?
Adam Green, a co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, had particularly harsh words for Bill Clinton, whose full-throated endorsement of Lincoln is credited with helping her win.
“It’s tough to see someone you’ve believed in betray you in a big way,” Green said of the former president. “We need to pick our heroes. . . . I think it would be sad if we went through this entire conference without calling out Bill Clinton for what he did.”
Rahm Emanuel?
Or P.T. Barnum?
It seems to me that fiscal conservatives could win many seats this year.
Every race should be fair game even in heavily democratic cities and counties this November.
I would like to see fiscal conservatives run in every single race across the country, in every state, in every county and in every single city in America.
In other words the stupid assed Dimwit base thinks Bozo isn't ruining the country fast enough to suit them.

Why did they change the name of this event from Yearly Kos to Netroots Nation? Are they running away from the Daily Kos branding?????????
Where is the “here” this man speaks of and is it too late to tip off Al Qaeda to the whereabouts of this special convention? Maybe we could tell Al Qaeda there are a bunch of Jews in attendance.
