I really wish someone would tell Palin to drop the idiotic common sense BS.
A real conservative has common sense naturally.
It is becoming tiresome, repetitive and means nothing.

So is Palin bashing, but I doubt that’ll stop you.

I really wish someone would tell Palin to drop the idiotic common sense BS. A real conservative has common sense naturallyThat's the point. It's a pitch to people who don't consider themselves conservative. It's telling these people that conservatism IS common sense (and the liberalism isn't).

I completely agree. I agree with just about everything Palin stands for, but I have to confess she grates on me sometimes. I don’t like “common sense conservative” and the whole “mama grizzly” thing is really off-putting. That said, I do support her and wish her the best, but I wish she would drop some of that business.

A REAL conservative doesn't endorse liberal RINOs one day, and conservatives the next. That is called 'inconsistency'.
It is becoming tiresome, repetitive and means nothing.
Slogans and mottos are fine if used like seasoning. Just a pinch will do, dump too much into the stew and it becomes unbearable.

(Do you support John McCain? He's nothing but '0bama-lite'!! (and Sarah Palin KNOWS this!.)

To 8 - It may very well mean nothing to you, I’ll, but it just might resonate in the minds of some who are not yet sold on Mrs Palin.

Palin is educating the masses who need to be taught/shown what ‘common sense’ is. Of course, they will be more interested in the word ‘is’ but I’m sure some are getting it.

A real conservative has common sense naturally. What does it mean with 'real' conservative? Do you think Freepers have same idea of what it means?

"Common sense Conservative" is designed to mean a lot to casual voters or those who still think "conservative" means rightwing crackpot. It is intended to appeal to uncommitted or middle-of-the-road people who naturally think of themselves as having common sense, but are aware of the slander pitched from the left, and uncertain about it.
It sounds redundant to those of us who understand conservatism, and it is--for us. For the broader public, it is not redundant.
This is a refinement of the strategy behind GW Bush's "compassionate" conservatism, except that Bush was being dishonest by appropriating the conservative label. Like his father with his "kinder, gentler" crap, W was really repudiating conservatism. Sarah Palin is not.
