USDA Employee Shirley Sherrod Received $150,000 in Minority Farm Lawsuit

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack says he has apologized to ousted employee Shirley Sherrod and offered her a unique new position at the agency.
Sherrod, in an interview with The Associated Press, says she is considering the offer.

I figure that she will get a raise to the super-GS schedule, at a minimum.
There goes our TARP money.
They created a new position for her? My question remains, if she had just won a suit against the Agriculture Department, why did they hire her in the first place? You don’t usually hire someone who just took a bunch of money from you, even if it was fully justified.
Sherrod will sue USDA for getting fired, will collect a lot of money in damages and then will be hired by the Pretender In Chief as a civil rights consultant.....for a lot of money.

Bill O’Reilly also apologized to Sherrod on his program today. Bill said that he “hadn’t done his homework.”

As for why you would offer a job to someone who just beat your ass in court, I can only think of a few reasonable answers ( there may be more)
1. They have more ammunition, and you know it.
2. They know how to exploit your weakness(es) and you buy them off. (Like promoting union stewards to management)
3. Family, political ties or a favor to a third party who controls you both.
Her SNCC past seems a good clue. Old ghosts can be pretty fearsome.
