David Cameron is to order the release of secret Government documents disclosing how BP pushed Labour ministers to agree to a controversial deal which led to the release of the Lockerbie bomber.
The release of the confidential memos and letters could pave the way for a full British inquiry into the alleged involvement of the oil giant in the release last year of Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, a Libyan intelligence officer.

They are trying to lay this all on BP, but in fact there is plenty of blame to go around.
Doctors who swore thie man was on his deathbed, the government ,who fell for it, when it shouldnt have mattered one way or the other. He should have died in prison, the government should have assured it.

If it’s true that BP got a deal out of it, that is bad, but what is worse is that the Government knew about the deal and went along with it, buying release for an insane mass murderer for a few gallons of oil.
If true, BP is truly a company with no integrity—especially after how we have seen the occurrence and handling of the DeepHorizon explosion and aftermath.
OK now what will this do to The Labour Party in Great Britain? Maybe there in Hope for Brittania after all.

Actually, they have done an excellent job, AFTER THE EXPLOSION. The government interference is what made it seem clumsy. Even without interference, the time to complete the needed tasks would have ended up the same. BP just wouldn't have had to waste money on the TOP KILL attempts, which they and OBAMA had been told by the 'experts', had a very slim chance of even working. The COFFER DAM was a complete waste of time, and even though BP knew so, Obama wanted it done.
Seems his 'credibility' was on the line, and most of the public had not been NOTIFIED by the MEDIA that the instant the 'spill' occurred, responsibility shifted to the MMS and the President, and the head of the Coast Guard. He wanted it 'fixed' before he told 'us' he was in charge.
Guess who won that battle? No one.

Yes it could. Prisoners are devolved to the Scottish government. They and they alone let Megrahi go.
...there is no way this guy would have gotten released without running it by the White House...the release has Obama’s fingerprints all over it.
I suspect this may not go over with the folks in Scotland either. I recall when this was all going down the folks in Scotland were none to happy.

There is no appetite in the UK for this to be an issue as it can only do harm to UK interests. I suspect the Scottish Justice Secretary, Kenny MacAskill, will go with the embarrasment and political pressure.
Nothing else.

At least The Telegraph will cover it, I doubt the main stream media in the US will cover it much either.
They will cover this until they find out their hero was involved. Then suddenly everyone will have been on vaction when the story broke and they will know nothing of it.
