Whether it’s a mea culpa or a a health care PR stunt, the turn around is designed to get votes. And either way, it should fail.

I think you nailed it.

He may have made the recess appointment for the purpose of undoing it after it got a lot of publicity, so that he could come out looking like the good guy in the end.

Sen. Byrd replacement sworn in today)

THAT is all that’s changed.

If this is true, the some repub sellouts have cur some sort of deal with Obama. There’s no way he would do this otherwise. and I also hope that this sitting president is only sitting until sometime early next year...due to impeachment proceedings. God save this country.

The democrats never put the guy up. The republicans obstructed nothing.

Clearly Hussein figures he has the votes to get this guy confirmed and given the number RINOs in the senate, he undoubtedly HAS!! But why give republicans the chance to bloody this thug during hearings?? Has Hussein already “fixed it” with RINOs on the committee?? I don’t understand this move, but you can be sure there is, as WC Fields said, “a native in the fuel supply” somewhere.

As I understand it, he hasn’t revoked the recess apppointment. He’s still going ahead with that, but he will then submit this guy’s name for regular approval because otherwise he would only be able to hold his position until January 2011.

He would then either need to be confirmed or somebody else would have to be appointed, whose term would be until 2013. If the GOP gets in, it’s unlikely that Berwick would be easily confirmed any time after November, but he will probably be confirmed now under the Dems.

I don’t think Obama cares about any PR blowback, because he probably assumes the Dems are going to lose a lot of seats anyway, and at this point, what he wants to do is make sure that he has enough appointees and laws in place so that even if the composition of the elected bodies change, he’s still in control.

No, he only has 59. Remember, Scott Brown gave the GOP 41 senators. Now, it is possible he has one the of the RINOs in his pocket, but he has to get at least one GOP vote for cloture.

They always have one (R) to take the hit as if there is a difference. They practically always get their (elites) way.

Good heavens! Barry is completely tone deaf. While Im sure he can put together the votes he’s going to lose the PR side very very badly. Voters are already unhappy about BarryCare and to run Berwick thru the paces is going to make it even worse. In fact itll confirm everyones worst nightmares. This is a huge gift to the GOP.

Not yet, no.. they haven't had to.
