Joe Wierzbicki, coordinator for the Tea Party Express, issued the following statement Monday in response to the Tea Party Federation's announcement Sunday about the Federation's relationship with the Tea Party Express:
"The Tea Party Express with over 400,000 members is by far larger than the Tea Party Federations entire membership. Most rank-and-file tea party activists think were talking about Star Trek when we try to explain who the Federation is. Given the absurdity of the actions by the "Federation," this is quite fitting, since their conduct is alien to our membership.
"Groups trying to say who can or can't be 'expelled' from the tea party movement is arrogant and preposterous. Perhaps this explains why so many tea party groups have left the "Federation" during the past few months. Whatever the reason, most tea party activists are focused on taking back their country and the upcoming 2010 elections and not silly power games being played by individuals such as those in the "Federation."

Divided we fall...
I had my doubts about this 'Tea Party Federation' all along but this verifies my suspicions and, apparently, those of many other conservatives that have posted here.
The 'Tea Party Federation' is likely a front intended to divide and demoralize the independent American patriots that, as a loosely-knit group, chose to call themselves the 'Tea Party'. We have to be hyper-vigilant because the Left will say and do anything to defeat the Tea Party - the average American - because we're a threat to their power and their schemes to 'transform' America into a place where you won't want to live.
I'm confident that Trojan Horse tactics will be tried again. So will 'plants' at rallies carrying 'racist' signs, shouting racial slurs and other garbage for the MSM to capture and gleefully broadcast 24/7. We see what Sarah Palin has to deal with. Because it's a group, the Tea Party can't be attacked individually but our members - i.e. Mark Williams, can. Expect more of this as the election looms closer. The 'race card' is all they have left and they will use it, incessantly, but, one hopes, the attempt will prove futile. We'll know on November 3rd.
If this is Grover Norquist, great friend of the Saudi, then forget it. Grover is just another empty suit, trying to lead the band, IMHO.
Expelling groups without a membership vote is the “Chicago Way”. Maybe Obama and thugs are running the Tea Party...
A pox on both their houses...Unelected, so call “leaders”, somehow attempting to speak for TEA Party members.
We don’t have no stinkin’ leaders!
“...Furthering their efforts to discredit the Tea Party movement by portraying them as racist, the liberal media attacked our Mark Williams for a satirical comment on his blog. Mark is a personal friend who is not a racist — far from it. On his blog, Mark was making a point about the blatant hypocrisy and backwardness of the NAACP.”

That, to me, is the definitive statement. I didn’t know what the heck was going in until this post. Now, I do. If Jim is siding with the TPE, I’m on board.

Formation of ‘National Tea Party Federation’ Announced
MINNEAPOLIS, April 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — A broad coalition of national and regional Tea Party groups have announced the formation of the National Tea Party Federation (NTPF). The NTPF is established to create a unified message and media response amongst key leadership and their affiliates. At the same time, the NTPF will act as a clearinghouse and to promote the Tea Party movement’s objectives of:
* Fiscal Responsibility
* Constitutionally Limited Government
* Free Markets
The federation includes key organizations and leadership and is committed to changing the dynamics of communicating clearly to its membership while supporting the aforementioned principles. The approach will allow for clarity of message, rapid response to media misinformation while continuing to build the brand equity of the Tea Party movement. The NTPF will act in unison without a central leadership or overhead yet collaborate through a common set of principles.
The founders of the National Tea Party Federation include the following Tea Party groups:

The National Tea Party Federation is comprised of national, regional and local leadership that has worked to build trust amongst the various parties. The founding members will work to encourage other groups and leadership to join the federation thereby extending its impact and capabilities.
Jamie Radtke, Chairman of the Richmond Tea Party stated, “The National Tea Party Federation is based upon successful models deployed over the past year. These include actions like our own efforts in Virginia. We understand the importance of standing together while enhancing the ability to frame the discussion and realize gains amongst this approach to collaboration.”
The federation was formed in response to a concerted effort of misinformation propagated by the mainstream media. The federation will act as a “rapid response” team to mainstream media misinformation.
NTPF has also established alliances which include like-minded advocacy and support groups such as:
* 60 Plus
* Americans for Prosperity
* Americans for Tax Reform
* Bannon Strategic Advisors
* Citizens Against Government Waste
* Citizens United
* Constitutional Sovereignty Alliance
* Contract From America
* Doctor Patient Medical Association
* Family Research Council

* Victory Media Group
Mark A. Skoda of The Memphis Tea Party commented, “The combination of the Tea Party leadership and a strong network of alliances brings together activists with the resources to get our message out while coordinating across these many groups. The talent, experience and results orientation of the National Tea Party Federation is unprecedented in the current political environment.”
Darla Dewald of ResistNet also commented, “The power of this federation is extraordinary. The leadership and advisors who have chosen to affiliate within the National Tea Party Federation are key activists with the capability to deliver a clear message while also working with their membership to achieve change.”
Maggie Hunt of the Santee East County Tea Party stated, “This federation, much like the United States itself, is a combination of large Tea Party organizations and smaller local groups. We are so pleased to play our part and to participate in this important effort.”
Dozens of other Tea Party leadership and affiliates have been invited into the National Tea Party Federation and are working through their review processes. The NTPF is an open federation and welcomes all Tea Party groups and affiliates who are committed to the core principles of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government and free markets.

I wouldn’t belong to any federation that would have me.
We don't need no stinking leaders.
I’m with you, Jim Robinson. I toured with them for three weeks last Spring, and can say without hesitation that neither the tea Party express members nor the folks at the 45+ rallies we attended expressed any form of racism. Especially and including Mark Williams.
Where is anyone talking about the Black Panthers’ King Shabazz?
http://radiopatriot.wordpress.com/2010/07/18/oh-good-grief-grow-up-people/
Does anybody else roll their eyes when they see tea party capitalized, as if its a real, trademarked organization with leaders, etc.? I swear the rats are hard at work through their newsrooms (and with a lot of help from clownish political wannabes and libertarian malcontents) to turn the effective tea party protests of 2009 into The Tea Party, until it becomes the same kind of marginal laughingstock the Move On campaign evolved into ten years ago.
Tea partiers are individuals from across the nation who briefly organized a few times in order to shout as one at a corrupt and disgraceful government agenda of communist health care and the drunken waste of tax dollars. The tea partiers are still out there and they will vote because they are inspired to do so, but I doubt 95% of them give a rats behind about being called tea partiers. I know I sure dont.
This effort by some people to turn the tea partiers (arent we all tea partiers here?) into a real live, ongoing organization with a convention and leaders and all the rest of the bells and whistles is stupid. Its old already - - time to put the phrase tea partiers to rest. The battle has been joined and tea partiers will continue to shout (and vote!) for a return to sanity, and they need no label to do so.
“Soros Stooge” and “Not Tea Party” With a giant arrow is a great sign I saw. You see some thug pretending to be tea party and wearing something inappropriate or with a sign saying something inappropriate and you break out that sign and just follow them around with the arrow pointed at them. Also taping them and challenging them is good. Saw it in a link here.
Amen.
As soon as we have leaders, even self-appointed leaders, we get this shit. We don’t need it or them!!
As noted elsewhere, the TEA Party is a movement, not a formal organization and it should remain so if it wants to remain effective. If you organize it, you kill it.
The TEA Party is a spontaneous grassroots movement that arose to fight against unconstitutional big government intrusion into our lives, regardless of organization or political party!!
Go leaderless TEA Party!!
Rebellion is brewing!!
In the Age of Obama , Political Subterfuge knows no party or movement boundaries.
A ‘self-appointed’ Federation that would seek to call the shots is exactly the thing we don’t need when a groundswell of political awareness is reaching a climactic peak.
Mark Williams exercised legal rights in his offering. Too bad many still lack the skin to weather a little heat or humor, even when generated by satyric musings no less.
Yet, he must be expelled from this ‘Federation’ to save face. Some group that is.
“The federation will act as a rapid response team to mainstream media misinformation.”
Ummm...No!
JR
I appreciate your view that Mr. Williams in not a racist. I agree even though I have only heard him speak twice
BUT if he really did write that letter to Abe that was pretty incendiary and not helpful coming from such a visible member of the Tea party movement.
I am still having a hard time believing he wrote such a letter and wish he’d say something
CNN probably in on it. Maybe the ringleaders of this particular circus.
We need to develop instincts to see this for what it is in real time.
It's happening.
These guys on the left play filthy dirty.
Once we fully catch on we can out-G the G as Col. Hackworth (God rest his soul) would have said.
