Carly Fiorina, 55, has been contending with chemotherapy and radiation treatments and reconstructive surgery because of breast cancer, so she is understandably undaunted by the relatively minor challenge of winning a U.S. Senate seat in this state that last elected a freshman Republican senator in 1982, that has not supported a Republican presidential candidate since 1988, and that has not elected a right-to-life candidate in statewide voting since 1998. This race will test the power of the rising Republican wave.
Fiorina might surf it from here to Capitol Hill because her opponent, Barbara Boxer, 69, is the Senates fiercest liberal, and California is an intensely unhappy laboratory for liberalismhigh taxes, opulent entitlements, thick regulations, and subservience to government employees unions.

It’s amazing that a candidate with pro-life leanings is feasible in California. I think that Barbara Boxer may have finally worn out her welcome.
California is red, white and green, the colors of the Mexican flag. Formerly a part of the United States, California has been infiltrated and taken over by citizens of a foreign country, and it is now being run to their liking and by their standards of governance. This is called the re-conquest. We should cut our losses.
Carly is not so very different from Boxer, so the point is hardly tested.
Will is caught up in the “it takes a RINO to win” theory. He has always had a soft spot in his heart for that theory because real conservatives are just too “declasse” among his Beltway friends.
Time for the dried up abortion hags to retire!
If Boxer wins again, the handwriting is on the wall for America. With continued massive illegal immigration California’s fate is a harbinger for our nation.
Oh PLEASE!!! Carly isn’t PURE enough for you, but she’s NOWHERE NEAR VILE LIKE BARBARA BOXER IS!!
AMEN.....LOST FOREVER if BOXER WINS.
Yep, even shown in their flag...
She's sure courting the Hispanic vote...
CA went blue long before the mexicans took over. The big city rich whites are all as blue as blue can be, except for San Diego. The rest of the state’s basically a nonissue outside SF, LA, and SD.

It is also - and not by coincidence - irredeemably broke.
Americans don’t cut our loses or give up American soil. The mexicans aren’t likely to pose much of a challenge if we ever decide to fight them.
Actually Ann, I hear you and agree.
My point is: they are not different enough to allow psephologists to make any decisions about California’s irredeemable blueness.
Concurring bump.
Along with the Soviet bear and the red star.
They're probably thinking that way about us. Last check, it's not the USA occupying Mexican territory, but increasingly, year-by-year, the other way.
The red star struck me as well. I didn't think of the Soviet bear...
