Biden: GOP forced undersized stimulus By: Kendra Marr July 18, 2010 09:04 AM EDT

Vice President Joe Biden said that the Recovery Act was undersized because the White House shrunk the economic stimulus package to win Republican votes in Congress to pass it.

“I think it would have been bigger,” he told ABC’s Jake Tapper in an interview airing Sunday. “In fact, what we offered was slightly bigger than that.”

In the end, the administration found three Republican votes to pass the Recovery Act. And, while “a lot” of administration officials believe the emergency spending was too small, Biden said that more than 3 million people are now working because of the federal programs.

“The argument's gone from losing jobs to are we creating them fast enough, not whether we're creating them,” he said. “And nothing is fast enough till you get these people back to work.”

**In the end, the administration found three Republican votes to pass the Recovery Act.**

But, Joe, dear, you didn’t need any Republican votes to pass the “stimulus” act. Democrats have the majority in both houses of Congress. (Another inconvenient truth.)

Yeah, indeed, why TAX when he can just print money. Might as well print a trillion dollars, everyone can work! Ha. Why not have the American Worker guarantee all large banks, the Soros and the Buffetsm the Gates, the Carlos Slims, they shouldn´t loose any money now should they.? Just up, and up, and more UP. Nothing ever sinks, or pops, or tanks. Bring it on Joe Biden, let’s see if the world buys US Bonds with this plan .

Classic liberalism - the response to failure of a program is to claim it wasn’t big enough.

It is time for one of those GOP dunderheads to point out to the public the Dems have uncompromised control of the legislative and executive branches of this government...furthermore, they have been in contol of congress since 2006...nothing passes or does not pass without their blessing. The GOP can stop nada, can affect nada without some support from the dems in the Senate and then only by parlimentary procedure.

Meanwhile, note the WVa governor just appointed another dem to take place of Byrd, right after saying he would take his time before doing so...obviously they are packing the senate again to withstand any challenges.

CW2 around the bend.

You know...If this is not enough to put some spine back into the spaghetti noodles we have up there now, I dunno...

I figure if we were to at least erect a cage ring outside the capitol building, that might give them a venue to start kicking some arse for a change...Obviously, maintaining the decorum of the legislative branch of our government has not worked out so far...

Are they effin kidding? This is the best they’ve got? They have no accomplishments to run on so they resort to lies and smears. They own 3 branches and most of the courts and they still can’t get it done. FAILURE

Hey Joe!
Let’s see an itemized bill for how you spent the current $850 BILLION!?!?!?!?

The fact is it hasn’t been spent yet, so where do YOU get off saying it wasn’t enough?!?!?!?

"...Do they actually believe people would buy this?"

Actually, they are banking on some segment of the citizenry and nearly all the media buying this hook line and sinker.

They are also banking on some segment of the citizenry and the some of the media to say "Well, I don't know enough about this. They might be right."

The rest, they will characterize as partisans who want Obama and his policies to fail because they are racist.
