Expo president statement

Indiana Black Expo President and CEO Tanya Bell released the following statement late Saturday night:

“As our community celebrates 40 years of having one of the largest African-American events in the country, we are saddened by the reported incidents that occurred downtown this evening. Fortunately, none of the incidents resulted in life threatening injuries. We are still waiting to hear if the incidents were related and who was involved.

...Indiana Black Expo...one of the largest African-American events in the country...

Well...well...well. I was sure that it was another one of those violence-prone Country music or Southern Gospel concert events when I first saw the headline. /s * 10e6

I was one of about 5 crackers in an audience of 10,000 Blacks at the I think first Black Expo in Chicago in 1971. One of the greatest concerts I ever attended: Quincy Jones, Roberta Flack, Donny Hathaway, and Aretha Franklin

“Fortunately, none of the incidents resulted in life threatening injuries.”
