Debate Watching Party in Tucson!
Pima County GOP Debate Watching Party at O'Malley's Back Room in Tucson
Thanks for the thread OnyX...you are Marvelous ya know!
Given some of his comments, I think you're right. Granted, he hit on both men for being part of the problem in Washington but he seemed to have a little more "snark" towards J.D., which is curious, given that MeCain is the one running away from his amnesty record and NOW discovering that it's cool to be a conservative!
Deakin showed better tonight but is nowhere near ready to go up against the vultures in the US Senate. I say this because when he first got into this race Deakin actually asked me if I would do a "prep" debate with him and play the role of McCain! THAT'S how sure I am that he is not ready for the bigtime. :)
I hope so onyx, she already caused JD to lose the momentum he had going. He was only 7 points away from McCain when she came in to campaign for him.
How about despicable, Manchurian, pernicious, son-of-Beelzebub, brainwashed prevaricator?
Since Rahm is the one who talked Harry Mitchell into running against JD I don’t think it was much of anything. They do talk to each other up there.
Hey Miss Onyx,
Thanks for the thread, great crew, very entertaining (except for the talking McCain part)
Rock
Deakin absolutely abhors JD because the citizens of AZ talked JD into running. Deakin thinks the entitlement should belong to him alone and imo that is why Deakin stays to be McCain’s foil against JD.
I was thinking the same thing, would have been a much more informative debate if only McCain and JD were there.... and McCain was bloodied as it was, would have been worse if Deakin hadn’t been deflecting a lot of the flak off McCain.
I’m holding my breath, crossing my fingers and praying she stays away. She made the one visit with three campaign stops/fund raiser for him, the radio ads, and her trips back to AZ have been to see, help and appear on national TV with Governor Brewer.
His campaign still holds the donor list from the ‘08 presidential campaign, and I’m wondering the price he wants for the list? Her endorsement plus? I didn’t give a dime until AFTER he named her VP.
She’s doing a-ok without the list, but if she runs, she could sure use that donor list.
Yes. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Deakin were planted as a spoiler. Here’s hoping that he doesn’t make too big a dent in JD’s votes.
You betcha! Thanks Rock!!
I was disappointed with Sarah as well, though I understand her reasoning for endorsing him.
To me, Jim Deakin appears to be a hitman - present in this race (and in the debates) just to damage JD and make sure that McCain wins. He kept attacking JD and generalizing with the stale observations that they are both bad, and they are both corrupt, etc. He seemed more interested in attacking JD rather than going after McCain. Deakin comes across as a precocious, smirking little imp - that effervescent 'smartest kid in the sixth grade' quality that most sane folks can't stand.
No wonder we’re on the same page. We’re the ones who can share a TV without complaining! LOL.
Deakin is sure enjoying himself, isn’t he? I don’t like him at all. I don’t like looking at him either.
You’re too kind, my dear, sweet FRiend. Thanks for being here and also for your sweet words.
“I like Deakin.”
Do you like your country?
Do you like you state?
Do you care what kind of country is left to your kids, and grandchildren?
For God’s sake do not encourage this spoiler. The future of the country is riding on the defeat of McCain.
I totally agree.
:)
