Well, those people were wrong, I think. The Passion was an overwrought religious tract that did an above average job of preaching to the choir — and of course the whole choir bought tickets. Apocalypto was more sophisticated in the way it went about its business.

Interesting....I can’t argue one way or the other. I watched passion and am done with Mel at least for the moment. He hasn’t done a good movie in a decade or more. The Patriot was brilliant IMHO!!!! I used to like Mel and Tom Cruise but both are very eccentric and can’t bring myself to watch any of their movies anymore. Tom’s latest movie is supposedly very good but I refuse to watch it or any other film he is in. I still have visions of him jumping on Oprah’s couch like a wacko...he is done in my household!!!
