Iran has no strategic regional ally: ex-IRGC chief
Tehran Times ^ | July 15, 2010

TEHRAN – Former IRGC commander has said that “Iran has no strategic allies in the region save for Syria and Turkey which are to some extent close to us but they are not considered as Iran’s allies in real terms.”

Today Iran’s enemies atop of them the U.S., Britain and the Zionist regime are working together with the aim of harming Iran’s interests, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi told the Mehr News Agency in an exclusive interview with the Mehr News Agency published on Wednesday.

“On one hand the U.S. is responsible for imposing political and economic pressure against Iran by means of the United Nations Security Council sanctions.

“By that policy they are trying to compel European and Arab states to distance themselves from Iran,” he commented.

He added, “The role of Britain, on the other hand, is to sow schism, discord, and (spread) pessimism among the people and the state officials.”

In addition to driving a wedge between the public and the system, Britain is seeking to disrespect Islamic values, Islamic figures, and religious authorities one example of which was the defacing of the picture of Imam Khomeini in December 2009, the military advisor to the Supreme Leader stated.

Against the above backdrop “we shouldn’t blame foreign countries for all the problems we are facing today,” as there are some self-centered officials in the system who are only after greater power, thus their actions are not to the interest of the country, he explained.

Foreign enemies, the U.S. and Britain have come to the conclusion that in order to harm the Islamic Revolution they should target the leadership and the IRGC at the same time, Safavi noted

When you have a nuke on your missile, you don't need no stinkin' regional ally.

The Obama Pesidency is getting very dangerous.

Please — Any fool KNOWS Syria is Iran’s ally. And the way Turkey has been acting in the lasy year or two AT LEAST, trusting THEM as an ally (NATO or NOT) would be just plain DUMB. If it came down to it, The Shi’a in Iraq would bacl Iran too.

And PLEASE, don’t be too stupid to remember Hezbollah. They are Iran’s Shi’a Foreign Legion Terrorism Corps, and they have plenty of outposts not only in their HQ nation of Lebanon, but all over the world — including the US — and they are sending more in via the Mexican border EVERY month.

ANd, has ANYONE ELSE ever considered WHY we haven’t found Osama bin Laden? Or WHERE those Chemical and Biological Weapons Saddam had actually went? Because, he most certainly DID have them. They went to Syria — and Iran, which is where Osama bin Laden has been since AT LEAST 2002, shortly after we entered Afghanistan. Why not? Radical Shi’a and Radical Sunni may hate each other — but they BOTH hate us, they BOTH want a ONE WORLD Caliphate under Imam al-Mahdi, and they can kill each other later if that doesn’t work out....

No allies? Who wrote this stuff? Good Lord!

Turkey is still in NATO and they look after their own interests. At best they can play some games but they would never (almost) align against USA when it really matters, we can rain on their parade quite seriously. Not to mention that by going with Iran, Turks p*ss off the much more numerous and richer Arabs.

Iran supplies weapons to every major terrorist organization (Hamas and Hezbollah and probably al-qeada) in the Middle east. It’s simple: take out Iran and these groups will lose their main funding. We NEED to strike Iran or else face more attacks against America and Israel.
