Whitman stance on illegal immigrants riles GOP

Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman, who recently campaigned with GOP former Gov. Pete Wilson as being "tough as nails" on illegal immigration, could alienate her crucial conservative base, some party members say, by declaring she's in lockstep on the issue with her rival: former Gov. Jerry Brown.

In an opinion piece published this week in a Spanish-language publication in Southern California, Whitman wrote that there is "very little" that she disagrees with Brown on concerning the hot-button issue of illegal immigration.

While both agree that undocumented immigrants should not be allowed to get amnesty or obtain driver's licenses, Brown's camp says they disagree on key issues, including whether to give illegal immigrants a path to legalization, which Brown supports.

Riling conservatives

Still, Whitman's statement has riled some conservatives to the point that they're threatening to sit out the election - an exodus that could hamper Whitman's chances.

Honestly, that she is all lefty on immigration doesn’t upset me in the least because I never expected anything else from her.

What pisses me off is that the San Francisco Chronicle truly believes she had the “conservative base” of the GOP.

I would never vote for Brown, but we’re already screwed. California is broke. Brown’s government workers union utopia did the dirty deed. The government can’t even pay them, yet the idiot socialist courts won’t let the governator cut their pay and they can’t be fired. We’ll keep the government workers (and the illegal aliens), but close the parks and government offices and turn the locked up criminals free. California is done for.

Diseased to the core, Brown Rot did her in.

I am old enough to remember his daddy. When I was a kid I thought you had to be named Brown to be Governor.

Oh, Oh. More ignorance popping up again. Sitting out is a vote for Brown. Oh, that's right. Same idiots that sat out on McCain and look what we got. Half a pile of crap is better than a total pile of crap. Where do these idiots come from.

Oh, the difference between the Schwarz and Davis ~ Davis is retired?

Given a choice you don't want a RINO of any kind. Once the selection is made and you have someone who is destined to become a RINO and you are in California you FUR SHUR don't want a Democrat!

Think about Pelosi for a moment. She's pretty typical of a certain very common type of Democrat criminal.

There, that's long enough thinking about Pelosi.

Now, think about Boxer ~ whoops is that blood spurting?

Well, don't think about her, but note that she's running for office this Fall. Ignoring the Gubernatorial race for a moment, I think it's to the Republican electoral advantage to get a Republican in for 6 years as one of California's senators.

Frankly I don't think Governor Moonbeam has a good shot at getting back in power ~ even Hispanics can detect his quite substantial deficiencies. So if we have to have this woman running against him, let's get the Republican campaign money over there in the Senatorial race.

Now, about the North/South Wall through the middle of the state ~ really needs to be worked on now, even if only at the county level.

(Just teasing).

What we have in this news article is a claim that something written in Spanish for a Spanish speaking audience says Whitman is going to give up the ghost and give the illegals everything they want ~ except jobs and a balanced state budget.

Gee whiz, there's this newspaper article that said George Bush believes God talks to him. It was a translation of an article in Plattdeutsch written for an Old Order Amish group.

He said something else in English and that was translated into Plattdeutsch earlier.

No, "W" didn't say God is giving him orders. Whitman might be quite surprised to find out what she's promised HIspanics in Spanish.

Still, aren't you guys past your primary?

I'm always in favor of tossing the RINOs to the curb, but if you can gain a ruling position in a legislative body ~ and the only thing between that and another couple of years as a minority party, then the RINO can be voted for in good conscience.

You have that opportunity in California ~ you can vote in a way that gives Republicans full control of the US Senate, but that'll probably push Whitman over the edge into the Governorship in Sacramento..

Now, how to convert a RINO to a correct way of thinking. First, California's state government is broke. All tax raising options are gone. Even a Democrat has nothing he or she can do outside of add on more armed guards at the Governor's mansion.

if the stuff going on in Mexico drifts up to California I suppose local militias will have to be raised up to protect yourselves, and that Governorship isn't going to be worth warm spit to anybody. I can just see a RINO ESCAPING to somewhere else rather than be a Governor during a dangerous time. Cowardice is so typical of RINOs and Democrats these days.

That raises the question about who you have to replace Whitman, either now, under normal, though dreadful conditions, or under worse in the future, with dangerous conditions?

What do you do if the Mexicans decide to take over the state? Whitman won't matter in that case, and Obama is sure not going to go to your aid ~ unless there's a Republican controlled Senate.

Keep your eye on taking the Senate seat. We have to have that or America may be lost.

If she is no different on this centrally important issue, then I say elect Brown. That way the CommieCrates can take full blame for the economic catastrophe that is sure to follow! Death to RONOs (politically speaking, of course)

Fiorina could be the difference between Republicans organizing the Senate and saving America or the Democrats taking us down to world defeat by rubberstamping all the ignant Chicago thugs he is continuing to appoint to top jobs in the government.

Real Americans always vote for the Republicans to control the Senate and the House one way or the other!
