We don't know that as a fact.

Pressure is going somewhere. Looks like they came up 1,000 to 2,000 psi short. They got just enough to keep the pressure test going, but not enough to tell them they can kill the well. Thus, the need to run a second test to determine just where the leakage is going. Thad sort of mentions a second test in the above second hand quotes.

I went to bed at 7PM EST to attempt sleep. Must get up at 3:30AM.. Came down due to mind racing. Coors Extra Gold Lager on computer table (very cold).

One possibility, he said, is that the well has simply depleted itself to a certain degree over the course of nearly three months."

And it might be added. The original pressure readings may have been in error. Things seemed to be going a bit funny those last few days. What happens if enough methane has been bleed in this particular pocket that would realistically reduce the cavity pressure. As pressure drops one must also take into account the slight lowering of local temperatures within the cavity in question. Complicated calculations I am not equiped to have to perform.
In closing. There could be a few reasonable explainations as to why the pressure readings have dropped that do not indicate a breached well bore into the local cavity. Perhaps within the next two days we shall see other things posted that could make sense in the determination of the actual conditions at this site.
