BP's Deepwater Oil Spill - Awaiting the Integrity Test - and Open Thread
As soon as the oil stops leaking, Obama and his cronies are going to open up with a chorus of “We did it!!!!”
Mention is made of a leak....
Note from 8 pm approx:
BP says test delayed while leak in choke line is isolated and fixed
Take a look at this on the live feed,
There is an interesting device with three outlets on it moving around in the oil plume. Odd looking, it that it appears to be dispersing some liquid that is luminous.
Strange.
NO Doubt....
Someone on the Oil Drum said that was the dispersant wand....guess they needed three outlets.
Is it possible that this is the oil dispersant I’ve heard about? If so, it doesn’t seem to be dispersing a lot, compared to the oil volume.

Nothing like making use of social networking - BP on twitter BP_America
and, on Facebook, BP Operational Notes
"In preparation for commencement of the well integrity test, the middle ram has been closed and a leak has been detected in the choke line of the 3 ram stack. It has been isolated and will be repaired prior to starting the test."
Thanks! You beat me by just a bit, but I’ll bet that it is dispersant. Makes sense.
Thanks for posting and thanks for the updates. BTTT!
Dispersant.
Why BP is Readying a 'Super Weapon' to Avert Escalating Gulf Nightmare
And that would be the Super explosively pumped flux compression generator (EPFCG).
Is that story for real or just a joke ?

Arthur Laffer and Paul Krugman, two top economists on the opposite side of the political spectrum, see eye-to-eye on one thing: the US economy is very likely to get much worse before it gets better. My newest article, " US tax hikes set to double unemployment," explores why some of America's top economists now believe the ranks of the unemployed may double during the next 24 months.

I have been watching the Deep Boa C ROV’s working on the choke valve assembly. I mentioned to JAHA in a previous thread it almost appeared that they may have lowered a new unit and where preparing it for connect after removing the leaked unit. I may be totally wrong, but it just looked like the angles they showed, they where not working on the presently attached unit on the upper stack. I’ll probably shortly eat my hat on that one. Either way. They will get the damn thing repaired and the tests will go on.
Time to check out what is new at CSPAN then hit the rack. Been neglecting to see what new news comes out of the DOD etc.. Have a great evening what is left of it.
