[Texas: Democrat congressman Ciro]Rodriguez apologizes for harsh words

WASHINGTON — A San Antonio congressman apologized Tuesday for his outburst at a woman attending a San Antonio town hall meeting last week that was videotaped and later broadcast on conservative websites.

Rep. Ciro Rodriguez, D-San Antonio, blamed the incident on the campaign tactics of his Republican challenger, Francisco “Quico” Canseco, but apologized for “losing my temper.”

In a written statement, Rodriguez said the Canseco campaign attempted to “hijack a ‘Congress on Your Corner' event merely to engage in uncivil, cynical videotape baiting tactics.”

“The people of Southwest Texas deserve better than that,” Rodriguez said.

Canseco, in a statement, said the video clip shows that Rodriguez “has a history of cursing and yelling at people who disagree with him.”

“It shows how much contempt he has for the people of this district and their concerns about the economy, exploding federal deficits and reckless government growth,” Canseco said.

The incident bore similarities to disruptive town hall meetings last year, when lawmakers returned to their congressional districts and were met by constituents angered by the health insurance overhaul that eventually was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama.

In the event last week, the video clip shows Rodriguez in a North Side restaurant explaining the new health care law when a woman interrupts him, then provokes him with a demand to “tell the truth.”

A visibly shaken Rodriguez shouts at the woman: “Ma'am, don't accuse me of not saying the truth.”

The July 5 event was videotaped and edited down to 44 seconds and later broadcast on Breitbart.TV, a conservative web site. Talk radio host Rush Limbaugh mentioned the outburst on his show this week.

More and more, citizens and people in the media need to confront these people and just boldly say "You're lying."

Doesn't have to be emotional, foaming at the mouth, out of control screaming -- but we just need to call them on it and say "You're lying to us and we know it."

It's no use trying to have a debate with people who will say anything at all to win.

“The people of Southwest Texas deserve better than that,” Rodriguez said.

The people of Southwest Texas deserve better than Ciro Rodriguez. He was born in Mexico. How he became a citizen has always been a little murky. After Texas was redistricted in the early 2000s, he lost his seat and only regained after the US Supreme Court overturned the new district and one was created especially for him. He is a socialist and a Reconquistador who couldn't get elected in any other congressional district except this one, which has been overrun by his fellow Mexicans and reconquistas.

“It shows how much contempt he has for the people of this district and their concerns about the economy, exploding federal deficits and reckless government growth,” Canseco said.

Strangely, Canseco chose to ignore the explosive concerns of illegal immigration.Wonder why?

Because two-thirds of the voters in that Congressional district were, at one time, illegal. This is not the United States, this territory that has been re-conquered by Mexico.

Securing Our Borders and Targeting Criminal Illegal Aliens

http://www.cansecoforcongress.com/issues

America is a nation of laws and we are also a nation under siege from fanatics who want to harm civilians and do as much damage to our communities as possible. Our commitment to homeland security starts with: controlling who comes into our country, protecting our borders, ports, airways, and having top notch intelligence and law enforcement capable of stopping those who want to do us harm BEFORE they can attack on American soil again.

Beyond the threat of terrorism, our security is also threatened illegal immigrant gangs, drug cartels, and human smugglers. We must make it a top priority to provide the funding, equipment, and personnel necessary to identify, apprehend, and incarcerate or deport these criminals. It will send a message that we are serious and we are coming after them.

For those who wish to come to our country to seek a better life and make America their home, they must do so by obeying our laws and complying with our rules. Amnesty is simply NOT AN OPTION.

Non-apology. The headline is a typical spoonfed lefty lie. Truth would be, “’Cero’: My Outburst Was My Opponent’s Fault”.

If Ciro can't be defeated this year, he'll never be defeated. Seriously, what do you think are the chances of Canseco winning and sending Ciro home; realistically?
