“The Religious Left confuse the poor of Scripture with the proletariat of Karl Marx”

“The Religious Left” would NOT include proponents of Liberation Theology as it is not a serious religious belief but rather a political ideology masquerading as a religion, although I’m sure many if not most of the congregation THINK it’s a legitimate religion.

I have to say, though, I don’t get your point, what’s the difference, as you see it?

I believe the term is an oxymoron, also. The difference is in primacy.

The two belief systems, being incompatible, will conflict. How will the conflicts be resolved?

For a liberal Christian, their political beliefs will change.

For a Christian liberal, their belief in God will change.

I get ya, and I have a personal acquaintance that has done just that -

since the bible disagrees with her politics,
she rejects the authority of the bible.

“Liberation” ???

How can they talk about ‘liberation’, unless they plan to go someplace and found their own country.

In the mean time they are here basically being ‘carried’ (read: subsidized) by every working man and woman in the country and they enjoy a life style light years beyond their means or any effort to achieve on their own.

How can they preoccupy themselves with ‘liberation’ when they live in a free country, with complete freedom from want and responsibility even for their own defense???

They should lay off whining about attaining this so-called ‘liberation’ and instead, start doing something WITH the LIBERTY they ALREADY POSSESS, and have had handed to them gratis for over a century now.

“Liberation” is longtime communist jargon. ie, “Peoples Liberation Army” of China, etc. “Social Justice”, “Struggle”, and “Change” are old commie speak as well. All SOUND well intentioned but of course are not.

I heard that the answer was a pregnant nun.

Next question, whats black and white and smiling?

Answer, the priest who got her pregnant.

I know that I am going to take a LOT of heat for this, but one must understand that I grew up in Chicago which is very heavily catholic and I heard these from my catholic friends in high school.

There is no such thing as either liberal Christians or Christian liberals.

One is simply not a Christian when espousing the liberal viewpoint which is against every Godly law and tradition.

If one was a Christian, he wouldn’t be a true liberal and a true liberal couldn’t possibly be a fully committed Christian living a Godly life and obeying God’s laws.
