In remarks ignored by the national media, Ben Jealous, president and CEO of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), attacked the American Revolution as "not good for nobody" in a speech last night at the NAACP's 101st annual convention being held in Kanasas City.
Jealous also criticized the Tea Party movement and Sarah Palin in his speech.
Jealous' comments were not reported by the national media, but they were reported (in text and by video) by KMBC-TV in Kansas City.
"Expel the bigots and racists in your ranks or take full responsibility for for all of their actions."
"...We will no longer allow you to hide like cowards behind signs that say 'Lynch Our President' or anyone else."
"Sarah Palin says, 'Let's party like it's 1776.' My white daddy would say be careful what you wish for because the 18th century, Sarah, wasn't good for nobody, even folks like you."
The NAACP is scheduled to vote today on a resolution accusing the Tea Party of being led by "hardcore white supremacists".
Rush Limbaugh played a clip of Jealous saying that Tea Party protesters carried signs saying "lynch Barack Hussein Obama and lynch Eric Holder."

What a waste it is to lose ones mind. Or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. How true that is.

"Expel the bigots and racists in your ranks or take full responsibility for for all of their actions." You first, moron.
You can start with Obama, Holder, Jackson, Sharpton, Fahracan...

Meanwhile the media is waiting with baited breath for the “resolution” from the NAACP as if it were a supreme court decision.

Jealous was elected by the NAACP National Board of Directors in a 34-21 vote. CNN reported that “no one clapped or celebrated,” according to one board member after the meeting.[1] According to CNN, Jealous was the only finalist presented by the search committee to the full board for consideration despite there being other qualified candidates. Although some board members wanted to examine two others whom the search committee identified as finalists, Jealous’s supporters, including Chairman Julian Bond, prevented their presentation to the board.[1]
From his Wikipedia entry.

Well, abolition would have come 29 years early, I guess.
I'm not sure why independence wasn't any good for the other 82% of the population.

I’m sure they’d all be better off in Africa today...

Without separating from Britain slavery would have still been mandatory in the colonies. One of the reasons why we wanted to leave, King Goerge refused to allow the colonies to end slavery - as long as they were under British rule the colonies would have slaves, he decreed.

"

Why hasn't anyone, but Jealous, seen that sign.
You know that's BS, because every obamabot reporter and civil rights group in the country would have been all over it, and holder would be filing "hate crimes" against the person carrying it.
These chia pets made up the "N-word" allegations during the Washington TEA party, but never could claim the $100,000 prize offered by Breitbart for proof...and now comes another frivilous "racist sighting"...these are getting as common as Big Foot sightings...no proof there either.
IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE NAACP, NBPP, OR ANY OTHER RACE-BASED GROUP THINKS THE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT IS LED BY RACISTS, WE'RE COMING ANYWAY IN PEACE, TO PROTEST TAXATION.
Because they "think it" and "say it" doesn't make it true. The ONLY problem at any TEA party gathering has been from the SEIU thugs and leftists.
The obamabots need so desperatly to make the TEA party movement about race; but it wouldn't matter, we're like the Everready bunny and we'll keep on coming whenever, and whereever we like. The same document that gives the NAACP, et al, freedom and civil rights, gives us FREEDOM OF SPEECH and FREEDOM OF ASSEMBLY.

“Wasn’t good for Nobody.”
The double negative - does he intend then to say then that everybody was, in fact, positively affected?
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.....

At one time, the NAACP was an honorable organization. Now it’s degenerated into a pit of race pimps. Like Jesse Jackson, NAACP’s leaders spew meaningless, garbled crap just to get noticed.
