It’s my belief this guy single-handedly ruined the great American pastime..

The fact that I’m a lifelong Red Sox fan may have something to do with my deep animosity toward him ;)

Regardless- I hope he either goes quickly or recovers completely.

I am a Red Sox fan too, but I still had great respect for the man.

When the Red Sox have their annual Jimmy Fund drive (for Dana Farber Cancer Institute), Mr. Steinbrenner always quietly donated large amounts of cash ($10,000 or so.)

The whole RedSox/Yankee rival thing was (and is) a marketing ploy that is beneficial to both teams and both cities.

Baseball is a business, and no one did it better than Mr. Steinbrenner. Rest in peace, sir.
