Why call the police for help and then refuse to cooperate with them?

She called the police because there was a threat from someone. She stopped cooperating as soon as she realized that responding officers aren't interested in anything she says - and in fact they already "figured out" what the crime ought to be and who did it. And then they basically arrested her for resisting arrest :-(

Don’t you see her story doesn’t even pass the smell test? She tells the sheriff that she just wanted them to ask JOHN to leave. There was nothing about a damn prowler. She is lying about the prowler after the fact, so why does anyone jump to defend her?
