Can state get 'fair share' without earmarks?
Senate candidate Blunt says he'll continue to seek them; Carnahan and Purgason say system flawed.
Washington -- For years, Missouri universities, cities and organizations have received targeted funding from the federal budget, thanks to longtime Sen. Kit Bond, a senior member of the powerful Appropriations Committee.

This is why we need a man with fiscal integrity - Chuck Purgason.
As usual when libs speak they lie by omission. McCaskill has long stated that she favors grants instead of earmarks. Our local community in the past received an “earmark” from Bond's efforts and has received federal grants. There really is very little difference.
Ear Marks are a red herring and a drop in the bucket compared to what the feds dole out. When they vote to use the unspent stimulus to pay down the national debt, and reverse the rest of the spending they just implemented, cut the benefits for federal employees including themselves, then I can applaud that.
In fact, if they would just do that, they could keep their stupid earmarks. All this crap about earmarks is just political postering and a distraction from the biggest financial problems.
spending the country into bankruptcy is still spending regardless of the proclaimed local benefit.
Bond and Blunt have both “procured” money for Missouri for various projects. No wonder the federal deficit has ballooned.
What ever happened to people, and communities helping themselves instead of looking to state and federal governments for perks.
A true Conservative Republican like Chuck Purgason will stand against corporate and community welfare. McCaskill and Carnahan are enablers because they don’t say no or stop.
Purgason says NO and STOP. And stands his ground. He is not weak kneed when party hacks threaten him or offer his district perks in exchange for abandoning his principles.
A vote for Chuck on August 3rd will “Chuck Out” the pseudo Republican TARP Bailout party yes man Roy Blunt.
