A lawyer representing the family of a man fatally shot by police at the Costco in Summerlin denied police reports Monday that the man had pulled out a handgun and pointed it at police.
Erik Scott, 39, had at least one handgun with him at the time of the shooting Saturday, but also had a concealed weapon permit, attorney Ross Goodman said.

Agreed.
So you leave it in your vehicle unattended while you shop?
One could almost nominate this guy for a Darwin award. BUT, since he is one of us, a patriot, were not saying the obvious: What a STUPID thing to do.
Sorry the man is dead, truly sorry, but I wont be packing heat in WalMart or other discount stores. ITS NUTS!
LOL! That is definitely the stupidest thing I have ever read in my entire lifetime. I must have missed your sarcasm tag?
I think you might be on the wrong website.
I had a cop pull a gun on me once when I was pulling out of a parking lot once. He apparently was walking up behind the car and asked me to stop and I didn’t hear him. I heard him the second time when I saw his gun.
apparently I looked like someone who was wanted and considered dangerous. I was only a couple of blocks from the jail so my friend drove my car down there while we got it straightened out.
What good is a handgun if you don’t intend to use it for self defense (and thus, carry it on your person)?
You’re on the wrong website pal.
Maybe you oughta review some videos of young women being abducted in shopping mall, target, and/or WalMart parking lots and then raped/murdered.
Your post has to be one of the dumbest I’ve seen on FR in the last 2 years.
So then I am 100% safe in a Costco and no need to ever carry there? Glad you let me know/sarc
You obviously have no clue what the Founders thought of carying weapons as self-defense:
Thomas Jefferson: “The Constitution of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed.”
One more thing: Google “Brittany Zimmerman”
(48 minutes!)
She should be sued. She started the ball rolling for no good reason. It resulted in the man's death. Costco should get sued to give these business an insight into controlling gunbanning activism. The police need to be made to understand they are not above the law. The man was compliant with the law. He gets killed for it. If a gangsta gets legitimately killed, a black mob descends upon the the law abiding.
Why the hell would you pack heat anywhere.....it's called self defense, we all know criminals never frequent schools, shopping malls, Church's, streets, stores, gas stations, ad infinitum.....you should never be ready or capable of self defense, especially in cases where you least expect it....
Drama Queens annoy people. This Costco employee was an accessory to murder.
Freedom means others don’t decide where you pack heat, or not. That’s the point.
Search: “self defense shooting Wal-Mart” and about half a incidents pop up.
Where Las Vegas Metro PD is concerned, you might want to learn a new set of assumptions.
If victim attorneys were such lying SOBs in Vegas, Vegas taxpayers would not be paying so much in compensatory damages.
As it is, those of us who were around NV when the shall-issue ccw legislation was going through the legislature can tell you what liars Vegas Metro PD is. We can also tell you how they flouted the ccw law for years thereafter.
You clowns are just kind of tiresome but most internet blowhards are.
No doubt about that.
That Costco employee has this military man’s blood on their hands.
I have not seen the name of this coward, have you?

________
I SECOND THIS MOTION.
ALL IN FAVOR ?
“Yes the clerk was an overreacting idiot, ...”
This clerk, by lying, slander and being a false witness ( 911 call), caused a death of a young man.
They are, and forever will be, a murderer.
