Merced, CA - The College Republicans at UC Merced announced today that former Bush Advisor Karl Rove will speak at the school on October 8, 2010, from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM. The "architect" will deliver a speech, commenting on current events and the Obama Presidency, which will be followed up by a question and answer session. A book-signing will take place after the event.
Tickets are available to the general public for $35 and can be purchased at http://www.KarlRoveatUCMerced.com. Free tickets will be distributed to students, during the fall semester, on a first come, first served basis.
Karl Rove served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to President George W. Bush. He is the author of "Courage and Consequence," in addition to being a FOX News contributor. Rove also writes columns for the Wall Street Journal and Newsweek. He has been described by Fred Barnes, the Executive Editor of The Weekly Standard, as "the greatest political mind of his generation and probably of any generation . . . He knows history, understands the moods of the public, and is visionary on matters of public policy."
Tickets and more information are available at http://www.KarlRoveatUCMerced.com
Is that Code Pink whack-job going to try and arrest him again?
Gag! That doesn't say much for Fred Barnes.
b.f.d.
I wish Carl Rove and Dana Perino would crawl back intyo the woodwork where they belong.
Their advice and Bush’s actions in the last four years of his reign, together with John McCain, helped put that monster Hussein Obama in the White House.
+1
I hope with the emergence of the Tea Party movement we can start telling the difference between “principle conservatives” and “opportunity conservatives”.
Palin is a “principle conservative” (as was Reagan before her). She is a conservative, because she believes in conservative principles.
Rove is an “opportunity conservative”. He is a conservative, because he sees it as an opportunity to get ahead. Consequentely, he can swing pretty far to the left at times if that is what he thinks he needs to do to get ahead.
Bush I, Bush II (at least on economics), Gingrich, and Romney are all “opportunity conservatives”. They sing a good conservative song, but when you look at their actual record you realize something isn’t right as you ask yourself “how could they support THAT and still hold conservative principles?”
Yeah it does- it proves Fred Barnes to be the elitist fool that we suspected him to be.
You forgot to include Michael Gerson.
Good definitions, but Palin embraces the comprehensive immigration reform manure promoted by the Opportunistic Conservatives. Which is fine if you don’t care squat about American culture and think it’s great to replace it with Mexico’s, as has been done here in SoCal. I’d hoped for better from her but she has convinced me that she is no more inclined to deport illegals than Bush II or McCain. Or Obama for that matter.
