Sarah PAC steps into the big leagues
Politico ^ | July 11, 2010 | Kenneth P. Vogel

Posted on 07/11/2010 7:14:49 PM PDT by Al B.

A new financial report filed Sunday evening showed Sarah Palin’s political action committee has taken its fundraising to a higher level – and suggests that she has begun building a more sophisticated political operation in place of a bare-bones organization powered mostly by her rock star status and scrappy on-line presence.

The report, filed with the Federal Election Commission, shows that Palin’s political action committee raised more money in the second quarter of this year – $866,000 – than it had in any previous three-month stretch since Palin formed the group in January 2009.

The committee, Sarah PAC, also spent nearly twice as much – $742,000 – as it had in any previous quarter, the lion’s share of which went to the type of list-building and fundraising (including its first major direct-mail campaign) that typically undergird top-tier political committees. It also reported its biggest-ever round of donations to candidates – $87,500 – and its highest outlays for travel costs, including $17,000 on private jet fare to crisscross the country for high-profile political speaking gigs, and speechwriting. It also showed continued payments for that speechwriting as well as foreign and domestic policy consulting, and its first ever payments to a scheduler.

In short, for the first time since the 2008 campaign when she was the vice-presidential running mate to GOP presidential candidate John McCain, Palin is supported by a political operation befitting someone considering a presidential run.

If Palin’s ongoing campaign for McCain...

You people lie again. There is no ongoing campaign by Palin for McCain. Maybe some radio spots played over and over by McCain's campaign but as far as I know she only campaigned for him once. As opposed to Romney who has more than once and recently.

And for the record I would love to see JD send McCain packing.

I don't think they're hypocrites. They are deliberate in their efforts to defeat her advance in the limelight. They are the obsessed ones, displaying PDS on every thread, repeating the same lies, innuendos, and false conclusions. Their obsession with their version of the truth defies any credibility. Let them play their games, and just don't respond to them. Even if they say Sarah is standing in the middle the street naked, we know the truth. Political agendas always get in the way of that little thing, truth.

Their small minds are willing to allow Obama and company to further trample on our rights, and our children's futures. Sarah Palin stands a very good chance of getting elected, and thanks to federal law, wouldn't have to put up with all the lawsuits and other phony garbage from the left, and This kind of crap from these disruptors who alleged themselves to be on the right.

I am no centrist. I am a registered Republican, who has run for state office. I advertised myself as a “tea party Republican”. In actuality, I am closer to libertarian, as were our founders. While there is much in the Republican platform with which to agree, the national party leaves me cold with their actions in Congress. Though having voted in all elections since eligible, I have seen the Republican Party overtaken, and candidates nominated that were not the best available. the best thing that came out of last election was exposing Sarah Palin to the rest of us. I believe that if something had happened and she had suddenly taken the top spot, we would be saying Mdm. President today. She was an instant hit and crowdpleaser. Sure, she allowed the McCain crew to dominate her message as his sidekick, but we all have progressed and understand that truth. Some people are still trying to get their guy onto the top spot on the ballot. Good luck with that!

None of these knee-jerk disruptors have made any salient points which would cause me to sway from my support for Sarah's presidential campaign. Instead, thanks to their lies and innuendos, it has allowed me, nay caused me to confirm her stance. Despite her clarifications specifically showing them to be false, they continue to utter their protests.

Let them bray. That is what donkeys do.

Please continue to post. Let them have their back and forth, and their soliloquies. In the meantime, Sarah will travel around the country, speaking to thousands and tens of thousands, raising millions, and supporting good candidates for public office. Do I agree with all of her actions? Mostly, but overall I agree with her candidacy. But she has not proclaimed anything, it is pretty clear that she is the one to beat. With us, and the millions of supporters around the country, she stands a pretty good chance. Let them stay home, if I don't wish to support her.

But, for those who support Sarah Palin, both in her present service to the groundswell, and a hopeful presidential campaign, I plan on making another donation to SarahPac today. I believe it is an investment in the future of America. YMMV!

McGruff cannot dispute anything in my 2 posts so as is the standard operating procedure with Palinbots, he throws insults instead. Nothing new.

Darn, I thought this post was directed toward Rabs, given his constant lying about Sarah, trolling Palin threads and harrassing Palin supporters. Too bad. He could use a break from his Palin dementia. As could we all.

Not to mention this part:

The donations come more than a week after SarahPAC was notified by the FEC that it violated federal election law with the donations it gave to Sens. John McCain and Lisa Murkowski earlier this year. Because the PAC had only given money to two candidates, it was only allowed to donate $4,800 to them per election cycle. (The PAC had donated $5,000 and received a refund of $200 from both McCain and Murkowski.)

If Palin’s ongoing campaign for McCain causes McCain to win, there will be a purge alright.....but it won’t be Rabs, MK, me or D1 who needs to worry about it ;-)

Chortle.

Supporting RINOs like McCain, Graham, Murkowski, and Hatch is NOT the "big leagues."

Uh, SarahPAC gave $ to Murkowski's OPPONENT, dipshit. Go back into your coffin.

I like Sarah Palin and all, but will never give a dime to SarahPAC. $1 of every $10 raised goes towards candidiates? That is horrendous. Why not just donate to the actual candidates, and let Sarah’s army of fundraisers, direct mail merchants and consultants get paid from somewhere else?

Uh, SarahPAC gave $ to Murkowski's OPPONENT, dipshit. Go back into your coffin.

Initially, SarahPAC donated $5,000 to Murkowski, dog breath. The donation ran afoul of the Federal Election Commision, I might add. She only donated to the opponent afterwards.

Wise up a little before you call other people stupid names.
