No president in modern history has evaded his pres detail as easily and often as this one. It reminds me of Bill Clinton and his famous spin machine. The reporters, instead of separating fact from spin, actually kibitzed in admiring tones about how impressed they were with Bill’s spinning skills. I get the impression Obama’s pool reporters are more impressed with his ability to elude them than outraged that he’s cutting them out of the action/depriving them of a story on a routine basis.

It's interesting that I've seen varying degrees of hostility when Obama does this, at least in these press reports. I'm never able to discern who the "press pooler" is, I'm not sure if they're publicly identified as a matter of course. I know it rotates amongst the WH Press Corps on a day-to-day basis.

In any event, I have read a couple reports when Obama has pulled this that were dripping with contempt. It's clear that there are at least some WH press people that don't like it one bit.

I wonder how often it happens and the pooler just fails to report it.
