CNN fired an editor for expressing "a lot" of "respect" for a Hezbollah leader the US had designated a terrorist. So how has ABC dealt with someone with similar views? By hiring her and awarding her the prestigious plum of host of This Week.
So what's the difference between Octavia Nasr and Christiane Amanpour? According to Cal Thomas, little, when it comes to their views. It's just that Amanpour is too smart and sophisticated to stick her views on a Tweet.

Her husband (James Rubin — St. Dept. spokesman during the Clinton admin.) probably believes the same. ....even though Fadlallah publicly supported suicide bombings against Israeli civilians, and has expressed the wish that the state of Israel cease to exist. In fact, Ammanpour and Rubin probably agree heartily with those sentiments.
I refuse to watch anything with Christiane Amanpour in it. I really hope & expect that “This Week’s” ratings drop like a stone when she takes over. Eventually, she will morph into Helen Thomas.
Obama, Holder, Amanpor, and at least half the people Obama has installed, have the same point of view.
That is why I am not on facebook or twitter.
Hundreds if not thousands of people have been fired from posting the wrong things to those sites.
She hasn’t aged well.
She’s Kennedy connected & won’t be fired.
I never could understand why Amampour got as far as she did except her sick and twisted mind fits right in with the sick and twisted minds of the powers that be of the media.
They called her the “war whore” for a reason.
A few years ago I was listening to a distant relative (who was a mid-air refueling operator) express his opinions about Amanpour at a family gathering. There was some disagreement among us all about the merits of her reporting; but he summarized, “We always would call her, ‘The Queen of Death’” and I think that was the last word on it
