BANGOR, Maine The first family will spend next weekend vacationing on Mount Desert Island, according to U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree.
President Barack Obama and his family are scheduled to arrive Friday, July 16, and stay through Sunday, July 18.
Information about where the family would stay and the sights they might take in while visiting Maine was not available Friday night. The visit is a personal family vacation and no public appearances are scheduled, Pingree said.
What an honor that the Obama family has chosen Maine for vacation when they could have gone anywhere in the country, she said. I think the Obamas will really enjoy the quiet woods, beautiful coast, wonderful people and everything else that brings thousands of families here every year.
While White House officials were mum about where on the island the first family would stay, Obama has political connections on MDI. George Mitchell, U.S. special envoy for Middle East peace, owns a home in Seal Harbor. Mitchell and his wife, Heather, have two children, Andrew, 12, and Claire, 9. The Obama children, Malia and Sasha, are 12 and 9, respectively.
Last August, the first family visited Yellowstone National Park and Grand Canyon National Park. The Obamas also spent time on Marthas Vineyard in August 2009.
Information about whether the family would arrive in Air Force One, the presidential jet, was not available. Neither the Bar Harbor Airport in Trenton nor the Portland International Jetport has runways long enough to accommodate the Boeing 747.
Air Force One could land at Bangor International Airport and the Obamas could take a helicopter to the airport in Trenton, then take a motorcade to MDI. Last summer, Air Force One landed on Cape Cod, the family took a helicopter to Marthas Vineyard, then rode in a motorcade to the 28-acre compound where they stayed.
In fact, he could pass as any of the Kennedy adulterers.

ewwww...he does! Even has the Kennedy drooping dog jaws....lol!
Obama does nothing publicly without a hidden agenda cloaked in a populist wrapping....in this case, a "vacation" to be "one with nature".
Notice he always heads for discreet, picturesque nesting places of the rich, famous, or the rich and under-the-radar famous. Martha's Vineyard and the lush enclaves of wealthy Hawaiians are other examples.
There's no one of any interest to Obama around Camp David except the wait staff and dorky rangers in khaki shorts (hello muddah, hello faddah, here I am at Camp Granada, ugh....)
In addition to the fawning and adulation he receives in and around the monied estates of the landed gentry, he has the opportunity for substantial fund-raising to swell his 2012 campaign coffer.
Although his trip is only for three days it still affords ample time for private rounds of golf with billionaires while Michelle can quietly lunch with Susan and Martha and impressed wife and daughter of a Muslim oil baron.
ALWAYS follow the money trail with this venal president.
Obama is not someone to let a perfectly good vacation go to waste.

"This is what you look like after smoldering
35 years straight---especially with Streisand."
He he cares about the oil spill so much that he ‘s sending Moochelle down there tomorrow, to jump start vacation time.
I swear on my mothers grave I’ve never seen a leader do anything BUT WORK!! I really think everyone should stop working and hold out their hands and ask the government for help. I mean how many do it already and openly brag about it!!!
This is why this idiot is so revered no natter how wrong and screwed up his policies are. All he has to do is give a damn, and he doesn’t. All he has to do is send “volunteers” on the welfare rolls down to the gulf to clean up the beaches and to be available when natural disasters hit.
But to do that takes guts and the willingess to lose most of your voting block. Either that or force the welfare rolls down, which of course makes too much sense....
ROTFLOL!! btw..thanks for reducing the size of the pic....it ‘s hard enough to look at him to begin with..much else a pic as big as the other one...lol!
