Terry Anderson, who called himself the Prisoner of South Central (Los Angeles) died earlier today, and the silence is already deafening.
For more than a decade, Terry had broadcast his loud and angry Sunday night radio show from Los Angeles under the motto of:
"Articulating The Popular Rage"
His constant tag-line was:
"If You Ain't Mad, You Ain't Payin' Attention"
When blue-collar Black Americans across the nation began to lose control of their neighborhoods, their occupations, their schools and their livelihoods because of immigration during the 1990s, Terry -- above all others -- refused to be silent.
For more than 15 years, nobody has been a more outspoken champion of the cause of Black Americans against the unfair competition of immigration.
A BIG MAN IN OVERALLS WITH A VOICE & MESSAGE TO MATCH
Terry's anger at what immigration had done to the historic Black neighborhoods of South Central L.A. pushed him onto stages across California and eventually across America. Usually proudly wearing overalls and doing nothing to disguise his small business and auto mechanic livelihood, Terry became one of the most popular orators in the movement to protect U.S. workers from illegal immigration.
Sadly, few of the traditional civil rights leaders -- Black or White -- have said a word in defense of Black Americans when it comes to immigration. Most of them have decided that the pain inflicted disproportionately on Black Americans is acceptable because immigration provides the leaders with other benefits. That is what made Terry's work so important and so courageous -- and so unique.
(Be sure to look at a short passionate interview of Terry that we used in one of our versions of the Chart & Gumballs video that we produced in the late 1990s.)
As far as I know, Terry had led a rather provincial life until immigration began to totally overwhelm his neighborhood. But he soon was seeing America. I first met him on the set of a cable TV show in Washington DC. It was his first time to see the nation's Capital. When taping was over late in the evening, I had the great privilege of driving Terry around all the lighted monuments of DC as the night tour evoked emotional patriotic expressions from him at the first-time sighting of each landmark.
Terry loved America, even when parts of America (including, sadly, some people who agree with the need to reduce immigration) still didn't see Black Americans as equally deserving and equally important parts of our national community. Terry always made those of us White Americans in the movement feel that he believed we cared as much about the Black victims in his Black neighborhood as we cared about White victims. And because of that, I sense that he created a lot more real and heart-felt concern throughout the movement for the disproportionate victimization of Black Americans by our nation's immigration policies.
MANY HEROES DIE BEFORE SEEING THE POSSIBILITY OF VICTORY DURING LONG BATTLES FOR CHANGE
Terry becomes the latest of a long list of grassroots patriots who selflessly devoted large amounts of their time and resources to this cause and have died without seeing a truly hopeful sign that the nation can be saved from the promiscuous immigration policies of the last 45 years.
He fought to the end in the hope that we might one day return to traditional levels of immigration and the rule of law in protecting the most vulnerable of Americans. But he died while the trajectory of his California continues to be abysmal deterioration.
Those of us who continue to live can honor Terry and all the other fallen patriots of the immigration-reduction movement by refusing to allow the status quo immigration policies to exist indefinitely. At some point, patriots in our numbers will begin to die with real evidence that the long, long effort for change will prevail before much of what we hold dear in our country is devastated.
If Terry couldn't live to see the victory, let's hope that at least those of us who knew Terry and were inspired by him will live to see it -- and without having to set any longevity records!
At this moment, though, Terry, I AM mad and I AM paying attention to the fact that our federal government is working even more vigorously to hurt Black Americans through its immigration policies than when you and I threw ourselves into this fight.
You know that I and NumbersUSA have always given special attention to the special threats immigration poses to Black Americans. You heard me express these concerns numerous times when we spoke from the same platforms, and we will speak even more forcefully now to attempt to compensate for the loss of your voice. And I know that although your special concern was for Black victims, your activism was for Americans of all races.
We've all lost a great advocate.
BTW...did you see this. Forwarded by NAFBPO

Farewell to a Fearless Patriot, Terry Anderson
Posted By Brenda Walker On 8 July 2010 @ 10:58 In General, Immigration | Comments Disabled
I was stunned yesterday when I got the news that Terry Anderson had died. I didnt know he had pancreatic cancer, so it was a terrible shock.
I admired him for many fine qualities, but most of all for his total fearlessness. When many black Americans were hunkering down, scared to voice misgivings about the alien invasion, Terry was not afraid. Saving the country was always more important to him than obeying PC rules to say no evil about minorities.
From his front-row seat in South Central Los Angeles, Terry saw the demographic invasion before other Americans who lived further from the border. He described the racism against blacks which Mexicans brought with them into his own city, but mostly he spoke as an American, for all citizens who care about the country.
Terry started out as a concerned citizen who phoned kindred spirit and talk-show host George Putnam on the radio (another late, great patriot). Those calls led to friendship and eventually to a radio program that was exclusively about immigration, The Terry Anderson Show.
Author Dan Sheehy devoted a chapter of his 2005 book which focused on patriotic activists Fighting Immigration Anarchy to Terry Anderson his life, his immigration awakening and his radio activism.
Terry was a genuine everyman, a blue-collar guy who worked as an auto mechanic, and saw himself as articulating the popular rage. The lack of a fancy academic degree never stopped him from being a powerful speaker. And he didnt just talk forcefully although he was known for that he was well versed in all the complex issues of immigration and blended them seamlessly into his thoughts.
CAPS interviewed Terry last summer, and he explained the current situation of black Americans living in southern California, that parts of Los Angeles are dangerous no-go areas for them, and most good jobs formerly held by black folks in the trades have been taken by Hispanics, many of whom are illegals.
Following is Part 2 of the CAPS interview, where Terry noted how the 14th Amendment has been misinterpreted to the detriment of black citizens.
For Terry the fiery orator, see him stir up the audience at the 2007 Feet to the Fire rally near the Capitol.
Roy Beck commented generously on Terrys life and work, DEATH: Terry Anderson, Radio Host Champion of Black Americans Against Unfair Immigrant Competition. In addition, Diggers Realm has a remembrance of Terry centered on when he travelled to Phoenix on June 5 to speak in support of Arizonas new immigration law, which turned out to be his last public speech (Watch.)
He was one of a kind. Irreplaceable. He will be much missed by all who knew him.

American Patriot Terry Anderson Has Died
By Digger
It seems like just yesterday that I was standing in the hot Arizona sun with sweat pouring off of me. I was not alone however that day, there was an American patriot sitting next to me on the stairs. I held an umbrella over his head as he wiped the sweat from his brow and took a drink from a water bottle. He looked up at me.
“Is it soon?” he asked.
“Just a few minutes more,” I said.
Terry Anderson didn’t look to me as I had pictured him. He was slightly gaunt and pale. His spirit however was still inside of him as he talked to me.
For those who don’t know Terry, he had been doing a radio for 10 years called Terry Anderson Show where he spoke out for freedom in America and enforcement of our immigration laws. He got involved in the issue after watching the black community in Los Angeles being affected by the invasion of illegal aliens. He railed against the inaction by our government telling the American people that “If you ain’t mad, you ain’t payin’ attention!”
“We will prevail because we are right!”
- Terry AndersonOn this day he had traveled into the middle of the desert to stand and share his message with the people of Arizona and the people of America. It was a day that would hit 107 degrees and the message he was bringing was no amnesty for illegal aliens. It was June 5, 2010 and it would be the last day that I would see this great man.
Little did I know at the time, Terry was suffering from pancreatic and liver cancer and it was the cause of his gaunt, pale condition. A little over a month later, just yesterday in fact, this patriot died.
“You ready to go?” I asked him.
“As ready as I’ll be,” he replied.
It troubles me that someone with pancreatic and liver cancer - a month from dying - can take the time to stand with his fellow Americans, but there are Americans in this country who claim to be patriots who will make every excuse in the book not to attend events or be active in something they say they care about. Actually it angers me more than it troubles me and looking at a man like Terry just puts the point home. Terry is an example to us all. I believe that he would say to all Americans to “get off your butts and get out there!”
America is much the poorer with the loss of this great man named Terry Anderson.
Terry stood up tall from sitting next to me, walked up the stairs and took the podium. Below is what he had to say that hot day in June in Phoenix, Arizona.
You will be missed Mr. Anderson.
Roy Beck of NumbersUSA has a great article up covering Terry
Thanks, Pelham.
Nice tribute to Terry, thanks for posting it, Pelham.
I guess I’ll tune in tomorrow night....just in case someone takes over the show.
Oh my goodness...so now we know what Terry was up to in his last days...standing in 107degree heat in Arizona!
Where will we ever find the likes of him again???
“We will prevail because we are right!”

Black LA Talk Radio Host Exposes Barack Obama
Friday, 29 August 2008
http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/3105/61/
Terry Anderson, Black LA Talk Radio host listed the following “Not Exactlys” regarding many of Obama’s claims...
1.) Selma March Got Me Born - NOT EXACTLY, your parents felt safe enough to have you in 1961 - Selma had no effect on your birth, as Selma was in 1965. (Google’Obama Selma ‘ for his full March 4, 2007 speech and articles about its various untruths.)
2.) Father Was A Goat Herder - NOT EXACTLY, he was a privileged, well educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government.
3.) Father Was A Proud Freedom Fighter - NOT EXACTLY, he was part of one of the most corrupt and violent governments Kenya has ever had.
4.) My Family Has Strong Ties To African Freedom - NOT EXACTLY, your cousin Raila Odinga has created mass violence in attempting to overturn a legitimate election in 2007, in Kenya. It is the first widespread violence in decades. The current government is pro-American but Odinga wants to overthrow it and establish Muslim Sharia law. Your half-brother, Abongo Obama, is Odinga’s follower. You interrupted your New Hampshire campaigning to speak to Odinga on the phone.
Obama’s cousin Odinga in Kenya ran for president and tried to get Sharia muslim law in place there. When Odinga lost the elections, his followers have burned Christians’ homes and then burned men, women and children alive in a Christian church where they took shelter.. Obama SUPPORTED his cousin before the election process here started. Google Obama and Odinga and see what you get. No one wants to know the truth!
5.) My Grandmother Has Always Been A Christian - NOT EXACTLY, she does her daily Salat prayers at 5 am according to her own interviews. Not to mention, Christianity wouldn’t allow her to have been one of 14 wives to 1 man.
6.) My Name is African Swahili - NOT EXACTLY, your name is Arabic and ‘Baraka’ (from which Barack came) means ‘blessed’ in that language. Hussein is also Arabic and so is Obama.
Barack Hussein Obama is not half black. If elected, he would be the first Arab-American President, not the first black President. Barack Hussein Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother’s side and 43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African Negro from his father’s side. While Barack Hussein Obama’s father was from Kenya , his father’s family was mainly Arabs.. Barack Hussein Obama’s father was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab (his father’s birth certificate even states he’s Arab, not African Negro). From... .and f or more....go to.....

Hussein_Obama_-_Arab-American,_only_6.25%25_African
7.) I Never Practiced Islam - NOT EXACTLY, you practiced it daily at school, where you were registered as a Muslim and kept that faith for 31 years, until your wife made you change, so you could run for office.
4-3-08 Article ‘Obama was ‘quite religious in Islam’’ http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=60559
8.) My School In Indonesia Was Christian - NOT EXACTLY, you were registered as Muslim there and got in trouble in Koranic Studies for making faces (check your own book).
February 28, 2008. Kristoff from the New York Times a year ago: Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it’ll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as ‘one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.’ This is just one example of what Pamela is talking about when she says ‘Obama’s narrative is being altered, enhanced and manipulated to whitewash troubling facts.’
9.) I Was Fluent In Indonesian - NOT EXACTLY, not one teacher says you could speak the language.
10.) Because I Lived In Indonesia , I Have More Foreign Experience - NOT EXACTLY, you were there from the ages of 6 to 10, and couldn’t even speak the language. What did you learn except how to study the Koran and watch cartoons.
11.) I Am Stronger On Foreign Affairs - NOT EXACTLY, except for Africa (surprise) and the Middle East (bigger surprise), you have never been anywhere else on the planet and thus have NO experience with our closest allies.
12.) I Blame My Early Drug Use On Ethnic Confusion - NOT EXACTLY, you were quite content in high school to be Barry Obama, no mention of Kenya and no mention of struggle to identify - your classmates said you were just fine
13.)An Ebony Article Moved Me To Run For Office - NOT EXACTLY, Ebony has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn’t, and never did, exist.
14.) A Life Magazine Article Changed My Outlook On Life - NOT EXACTLY, Life has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn’t, and never did, exist.
15.) I Won’t Run On A National Ticket In ‘08 - NOT EXACTLY, here you are, despite saying, live on TV, that you would not have enough experience by then, and you are all about having experience first.
16.) Voting ‘Present’ is Common In Illinois Senate - NOT EXACTLY, they are common for YOU, but not many others have 130 ‘NO’ VOTES.
17.) Oops, I Misvoted - NOT EXACTLY, only when caught by church groups and Democrats, did you beg to change your misvote.
18.) I Was A Professor Of Law - NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.
19.) I Was A Constitutional Lawyer - NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.
20.) Without Me, There Would Be No Ethics Bill - NOT EXACTLY, you didn’t write it, introduce it, change it or create it.
21.) The Ethics Bill Was Hard To Pass - NOT EXACTLY, it took just 14 days from start to finish.
22.) I Wrote A Tough Nuclear Bill - NOT EXACTLY, your bill was rejected by your own party for its pandering and lack of all regulation - mainly because of your Nuclear donor, Exelon, from which David Axelrod came.
23.) I Have Released My State Records - NOT EXACTLY, as of March, 2008, state bills you sponsored or voted for have yet to be released, exposing all the special interests pork hidden within.
24.) I Took On The Asbestos Altgeld Gardens Mess - NOT EXACTLY, you were part of a large group of people who remedied Altgeld Gardens . You failed to mention anyone else but yourse lf, in your books.
25.) My Economics Bill Will Help America - NOT EXACTLY, your 111 economic policies were just combined into a proposal which lost 99-0, and even YOU voted against your own bill.
26.) I Have Been A Bold Leader In Illinois - NOT EXACTLY, even your own supporters claim to have not seen BOLD action on your part.
27.) I Passed 26 Of My Own Bills In One Year - NOT EXACTLY, they were not YOUR bills, but rather handed to you, after their creation by a fellow Senator, to assist you in a future bid for higher office.
28.) No One on my campaign contacted Canada about NAFTA - NOT EXACTLY, the Canadian Government issued the names and a memo of the conversation your campaign had with them.
29.) I Am Tough On Terrorism - NOT EXACTLY, you missed the Iran Resolution vote on terrorism and your good friend Ali Abunimah supports the destruction off Israel . ;
30.) I Want All Votes To Count - NOT EXACTLY, you said let the delegates decide.
31.) I Want Americans To Decide - NOT EXACTLY, you prefer caucuses that limit the vote, confuse the voters, force a public vote, and only operate during small windows of time.
32.) I passed 900 Bills in the State Senate - NOT EXACTLY, you passed 26, most of which you didn’t write yourself.
33.) I Believe In Fairness, Not Tactics - NOT EXACTLY, you used tactics to eliminate Alice Palmer from running against you.
34.) I Don’t Take PAC Money - NOT EXACTLY, you take loads of it.
35.) I don’t Have Lobbyists - NOT EXACTLY, you have over 47 lobbyists, and counting.
36.) My Campaign Had Nothing To Do With The 1984 Ad - NOT EXACTLY, your own campaign worker made the ad on his Apple in one afternoon.

39.) My uncle liberated Auschwitz concentration camp - NOT EXACTLY, your mother had no brothers and the Russian army did the liberating
Some personal information.
[snip]Terry is survived by his wife Melanie, who was also his high school sweetheart, two sons, and two grandchildren. He was born in Oakland, Calif., but moved to South Los Angeles when he was a youngster and lived there ever since. After starting his radio show in November 2000, Terry would have broadcast for the 500th time in a few weeks.
He’s known for his well-prepared opening monologues (see one of his famous monologues here and watch him explaining how illegal immigration has harmed MacArthur Park here), which he often spent 20-30 hours a week to prepare.
In 10 years, he never missed a show, although he was pre-empted a few times by his home station on very short notice.
In the weeks leading up to his death, Terry Anderson had J.D. Hayworth, Republican challenger to John McCain, and Russell Pearce, author of Arizona’s new immigration enforcement law, on his radio program. In his “Clown of the Week” segment, he blasted the Obama Administration for their decision to sue the state of Arizona as well as DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, and head of the Los Angeles Archdiocese Cardinal Roger Mahony.”
That is very good stuff, “B”!
New Palin quote, and radio ad for McCain
PALIN: Then lets keep it then we wont complicate it anymore. Lets keep it simple. And lets say no, if you are here illegally, AND IF YOU DONT FOLLOW THE STEPS THAT AT SOME POINT THROUGH IMMIGRATION REFORM WE ARE GOING TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE, and that is to somehow allow to you work. If youre not going to do that, then you will be deported. You will be gone.

Bad move for Palin in backing that old a**hole!
To me, it is unforgivable.
“AND IF YOU DONT FOLLOW THE STEPS THAT AT SOME POINT THROUGH IMMIGRATION REFORM WE ARE GOING TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE”
Just another name for Amnesty.
At least we now know where Palin stands. And it’s not with those who have been struggling for years to take their neighborhoods back from illegal aliens. Thanks for the stab in the back Sarah. Hope you and John enjoy the thirty silver pesos you got paid for your trouble.
More tributes coming in..

Remembering Terry Anderson
Let’s start with that voice of his: mesmerizing.
Terry Andersons radio show would have been worth listening to even if all he did was read aloud the ingredients of breakfast cereal. His voice was riveting. Booming — really BOOMING — one moment, then practically a whisper the next; relentless rapid-fire delivery mixed with pauses; he could have captured and held your attention even if you didnt speak the same language. He was that good.
And Terry was hilarious. A boring man could never have coined the phrase, The most horriblest clown of the week. Even when he was articulating the popular rage, he could make you laugh. Mixing rage and laughter isnt easy, but it made it easier for those of us in Terrys audience to keep our spirits up in the face of the seemingly endless onslaught of, well, horrible clowns, week after week, year after year.
Terrys articulation of the popular rage was therapeutic. When you heard Terry rant, you knew you werent alone. You also knew you were right, because Terry knew right from wrong, and knew how to explain it simply and clearly. Politicians could blow all the smoke they wanted to, but it never clouded Terrys vision. He had uncommon common sense, and a unique ability to zero in on the truth.
Besides being a terrific speaker, Terry was a terrific listener. You know how sometimes, when youre talking to someone, you feel as though theyre just waiting for you to stop so its their turn to say whatever they already have in mind? You never got that feeling from Terry. Rather, he actually listened to what people said. You could tell from how he reacted, whether you were listening to him on the radio or had the privilege of talking with him in person.
Sometimes, when people would call his show, they knew they had a point to make, but they didnt know exactly how to make it. Terry listened, and then articulated the point for them. He did so, moreover, in a gentle, caring and respectful way. You could hear the relief and enthusiasm in their voice when they heard him express the thought they hadnt quite been able to put together on their own.
I even heard him take a call from a little kid — whose parents had put him on the phone — and Terry neither rushed him nor condescended to him. I forget exactly what Terry said, but I remember being impressed; I think Terry likened immigration law to playing by the rules, a concept children understand but many adults pretend not to.
Assembling parts so they work together was apparently second nature to Terry. After he passed away, I read an article about how, from a very early age, he had a knack for taking bits and pieces from wrecked cars, salvaging them, and putting them together to work, good as new.
Thats basically what he was doing with our country. He was salvaging those of us who had given up hope. He found some of us here in L.A., others in Nevada, still others in Illinois — scattered people, all over America, who thought they were alone.
Terry united and connected people all over America who actually care about America. He was like Radio Free Europe and the French underground rolled into one. He provided important information we couldnt find anywhere else.
When I ran for Mayor of Los Angeles, he was the first person to put me on the radio. He gave me the privilege of talking to people all over the nation on his show, despite my having had zero political experience, no war chest of cash, and no other media coverage. It made a difference. People from all over the country not only wrote to encourage me, but also contributed their hard-earned money to my campaign, because they wanted to help me try to save Americas second-biggest city. I was totally blown away. A police officer in Chicago actually contributed to my campaign. I was so honored.
Terry likewise supported Jamiels Law — a radical proposal to deny sanctuary city protection for gang members. That anyone could oppose such a common-sense, modest, narrow proposal is still stupefying to me. But oppose it they did, and Terry was right there, fighting the massive disinformation campaign waged by people who took the side of gangs rather than the side of gangs victims. He didnt just talk about Jamiels Law on the radio; he actually came to the rallies and the protests. That he took his time to attend meant a great deal to me and to the Shaw Family, too. If you had Terry Anderson on your side, you had the angels on your side.
Brave. Thats another word that springs to mind when you think about Terry. More like fearless. More like invincible. Terry was so strong, fearless and inspiring that It never even occurred to me that he could possibly pass away. I took for granted that we would always have Terry to egg us on, inspire us, keep our hopes up, and lead the fight to protect common sense values we never thought we would have to fight for.
I cant believe hes gone. I just cant imagine a world without Terry Anderson. No one can fill those shoes. He was one of a kind.
I also cant imagine how terrible his loss must be for his family. He was always strong, strong, strong. To lose such a great man, with so little warning, has to be absolutely impossible.
I just hope Terrys family realizes how much we loved him, and how grateful we are that they shared this remarkable man with us, shared him with America.
We miss you, Terry, and we wont let you down. You put us together. We wont let anyone tear us apart.
