(Reuters) - Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer's edge over Republican challenger Carly Fiorina has dwindled to 3 points as she seeks re-election in November, with more Californians now holding an unfavorable view of the three-term senator, a poll released on Thursday showed.
Boxer, who once held a 30-point lead over Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett Packard and a political novice, is now ahead by a margin of only 47 percent to 44 percent, the Field Poll found.
One of President Barack Obama's staunchest allies who has become a powerful liberal voice in the Senate since she was first elected in 1992, Boxer is facing her toughest challenge yet, as a wave of anti-incumbent sentiment sweeps the nation.
California, normally a reliably Democratic state suffering from double-digit unemployment and a budget deficit running into tens of billions of dollars, is considered a potential bellwether in the coming congressional elections.
The Field Poll found that since January more Californians have become disgruntled with Boxer, with 52 percent of likely voters holding an unfavorable view of her, compared with just 41 percent who regard her favorably.
Boxer's ratings have dropped to some of the lowest levels of her 18-year career in the Senate, with only 42 percent of registered voters approving of her job performance and 43 percent disapproving.

” simply another McCain in a skirt. “
I can see her now ;-)
” Never wrestle with a pig... you get all dirty and besides, the pig enjoyes it.”
No problem. I pledge here and now that I will never wrestle Fiorina.
“I don’t think Fiorina would have gotten as far as she has in the world nor have the resume she has if she were an idiot. Certainly compared to Boxer she looks like Stephen Hawking. If you’ve heard Fiorina debate, she’s actually quite sharp.”
people should look for her George Stephanopoulos interview. She held the line on conservative principles and easily bested him on national TV. I know people on here supported DeVore, but they need to grow up and get behind Fiorina in this race.
1. She’s not a RINO
2. She is nowhere close to Boxer.
Giggle. Not a pretty picture...
:)

Bwaahahahahahahahahahahahaha.....

Y'all are so unbelievably dumb and petty. I'm glad you have each other to post to all day. Without that, you might not have a life......and for the overly rotund petty posse an /sarcasm
Great post. Let’s face it, their misinformed opinions of Fiorina’s ideology is just a relic of the primary campaign and some of the trashing she took by Devore’s operatives and allies. So little of it has any foundation in truth. I think they will be pleasantly surprised when she takes office in the Senate to find she votes conservative nearly all of the time, certainly on economics. And that is the issue that matters most to California right now. Even if she votes only 75% of the time with the GOP, (which I seriously doubt) I’ll take a plate of 75% of what I want with 25% of what I don’t rather than a plate of 100% steaming cow pies such as we’ve gotten from Boxer and will continue to get if that wretch manages to hold onto her seat.
It was my understanding that one Senator could still get the floor and delay bills by not relinquishing control. That has not been possible for over one hundred years in both houses of Congress.
You are right.

It’s still my opinion that Democrats play hardball and Republicans play badminton.
Right now we have two Republicans running for office in California that didn’t even bother to vote for most of the last thirty years.
Whitman didn’t vote at all, and Fiorina seldom voted. Asked why, both of them look at the floor and move their toe back and forth. None the less, THESE are to two brain-trusts we’re tasked with supporting in 2010.
Both of them thought this guy was worthy of their full support.

Hope you’re feeling better after your eyes popped out in that last post.
As for us being dumb and petty, you don’t see us backing McCain or folks who do. If you think that’s dumb, we certainly do have two different visions of what is productive to turn this party around.
Some folks pinged here may find this reasoned...

” LAKESNARK “
LOL!
I still think that’s a good pseudonym. I won’t give him to much grief here after blowing it on that topic above, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy you doing it.
Take care bud.

The Republicans in the House & Senate, with minor exceptions, are spineless gutless cowards, with the imagination of a knat.
If I could, I would replevy their salaries, and their pensions.
There is nothing left to say to him. 100% snark.
to = too
Why is it my ability to proofread my offerings increases about 400% the instant I hit the post button?
I haven’t supported too much replevying of late, but in this instance I might just make an exception. ;^)
I agree with your emphasis here. (Obviously)
I rise early at about 5 am (habit of chasing stocks). If I post right away, without coffee, some pretty good gaffes become evident ;-)
You guys,... ;^)
Just damn, I can never catch a break. You actually have a decent excuse for yours... ;^)
I too have perfect 20/20 hindsight ;-)
And a weekend trip to Vegas. No hurry. ;-)
