There’s more bad news. Walt Minnick has raised $1.9 million, and combine that with the conservative endorsements, it’s clear he may very well survive even in a GOP landslide.
True, but then again, he might not. His first vote is for Pelosi for Speaker, and the rest just doesn’t matter. That fact must be ingrained in the voters heads over and over.
Minnick will lose for the following reasons:
1. The district is so conservative and so Republican that it gave President Bush 68% in 2004, probably his best performance outside of Texas or Utah.
2. The anti-incumbent, and anti-Democrat, mood is very strong this year.
3. This time, he’s not running in the 2008 environment, and he’s not running against Bill Sali.
4. Raul Labrador will campaign.
“Walt Minnick has raised $1.9 million,”
Leftists got where they are in part by making contact with individual voters: accosting them on the street, handing out flyers and pamphlets, holding rallies, haranging passers by with loudspeakers, going door to door...seeking to persuade.
All that in addition to their ever-present criminal activities, of course.
During the runup to the last election, only one person called me to try and get my vote—a demonrat. The pubbies didn’t even bother to make sure I knew where to vote, nor did they protest an 11th hour change of polling places. The only campaign literature I got was from demonrats. The Boise Weekly, the free birdcage liner, is far to the left of Marx and Lenin. Where is its conservative counterpart?
Republicans are stupid and inept. How horrible it is that the labor of turning back the left rests on their scrawny, bent shoulders.
Do pubbies have no leadership at all? Is there no one to organize rallies, get the word out, raise funds for pamphleteering, organize volunteers, provoke a hostile press into giving them coverage, and above all, put forward conservative candidates?
